Pretty pumped about the latest sourdough. Started out at around 76% hydration, I think but had to add flour to make it less soupy. Need to find a better cloth to create baguette shapes but very happy with the result so far.

Second attempt. Tastes good but not sure why I can never get the holes throughout. Halved the recipe but feel like I kneaded it too long. Tastes good with the hamburger soup we had.

Second attempt at sourdough in many a year. Not terrible. Not great. Tastes good.

This weekend will be another attempt at the croissants

I've set a goal for myself for making croissants every weekend. I mostly follow "Crust" by Bertinet. It's been a process!

Thisweek, the third, I mixed the yeast and water before adding it to the rest except I fell asleep while they were proofing!

Behold my flat croissants!

Second book down for the year. Enjoyed this book as it focuses on secondary histories and people rather than the usual

I was just thinking about this one today and how I need to re-read it.

Just finished Bank Under Siege and really enjoyed it. If anyone has suggestions for books (in English....sorry, I don't speak Spanish) from post WWII until the mid 80s about Spain, I'd love to hear them

So happy I stumbled upon Berry in university. Haven't read much of his stuff but it's always good to read him.
