LoopOfFun at the 14th Regionalforum Saar in Saarbrücken, Germany!
Our coordinator, @leibnizinm.bsky.social, contributed with a talk by Prof. Wilfried Weber and a LoopOfFun poster presentation by PhD student Asim Mohamed as well as the introduction of our first prototype developed by partner LUMA.
From 24-26 Nov., the LoopOfFun consortium gathered at the partner LUMA for its 2nd internal hands-on workshop dedicated to the strains and substrates used in our ongoing research on mycomaterials.
We exhanged insights, research updates, and explored LUMA Arles research and artistic programme.
LoopOfFun was at the trade fair Formnext, 18-21 November 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany!
Dr. Achim Weber (partner Fraunhofer IGB) showcased our 3D-printed fungal-based ELM samples and presented our first prototype, the LoopOfFun stool. Great interest and inspiring exchanges!

Two days of exciting science and discussion on the translation of ELMs to market/patients (regulatory and Path to Market) funded by #EIC under #EICPathfinder
Thank you Ushi!
Congrats to Niklas Hug on winning the Sustainability Award from Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences for his work on mycelium bioprinting. This makes a valuable contribution to the LoopOfFun.
Thank you to Niklas and Dr. A. Weber for this great achievement!

We are excited to share the recent publication from the @matsynbio.bsky.social group, led by prof. @wilfriedweber.bsky.social, the coordinator of the LoopOfFun project.
Thank you so much for supporting us. We will definitely reach out if we need anything.
Thank you @matsynbio.bsky.social for the warm introduction!
We are developing a conceptual and technological framework for the efficient and effective development of fungal-based living materials with controlled of mechanical and structural properties.
