This 'no brainer fair tax' that would make SNP £20 million for pubic services The First Minister has been told to begin preparatory works on a private jet tax

John Swinney is being urged to rollout a private jet tax after new analysis revealed it could have generated an extra £20m this year.
Campaigners say it would “send a clear message ultra-wealthy polluters won’t be allowed to continue to get off virtually scot-free”.

Market transformation follows an "X" pattern:

New tech scales, old tech declines.

In Denmark this point has been reached for EVs vs ICE vehicles.

Who would have thought? Even in the hybrid combination of a heat pump and hydrogen boiler, hydrogen proves to be too expensive.

Local electrolysis proved too expensive, H2 gas came from Belgium (carry gas to Groningen is the applicable proverb here, I guess).

Heat pumps remain the cheapest way to heat in Germany for 2025. Despite overall increases, heat pumps rise only ~5% and still beat gas, oil, pellets, and district heat on annual costs. Fossil systems are a long-term cost trap.

Reform, with 0.7% of all MPs, featured in 25% of BBC's recent 10pm news bulletins Astonishingly, a party with 18 times as many MPs as Reform has received one-third less coverage on BBC News at 10.

British media pumps out daily propaganda pieces for Farage, fails to offer *any scrutiny* and basically legitimises rampant racism, then puts on its ‘innocent face’ and clutches its pearls at the rise of the far right…
What a grim betrayal of our democracy.

Journey times up, deaths down: Welsh 20mph speed limit still divisive two years on Protests continue against default lower limit in urban areas that supporters say is working ‘exactly as intended’

“Collisions along roads that have changed from 30mph to 20mph decreased by 19% from 2023-2024, and 100 fewer people a year have been killed or badly hurt in road [collisions], according to Welsh government figures.”

“What is an acceptable death toll that justifies getting to work 2 minutes faster?”

I'd do absolutely anything - except add two minutes onto my journey time.

I wonder what it could be about the cost, queues, red tape, loss of investment, loss of opportunity, isolation, dishonesty, failure and downright tedium of the Brexit moronathon that has led to people not rating it any more…

Europe’s big trash-burning experiment has become a dirty headache Waste-to-energy was sold as a greener option to landfill, but evidence is mounting that burning garbage is far from clean.

Some 500 waste-to-energy plants operate on in the EU —burning around a quarter of our household trash to power homes.

Now evidence is mounting that burning garbage is far from clean.

But municipalities are stuck paying back the debt they accrued to fund them.

LTNs reduce deaths and injuries.

20mph speed limits in urban areas also reduce deaths and injuries (see data from Wales).

But we mustn't upset the drivers.
