I'm OBSESSED with Hacks. It's so, so good. (No bias as a former stand-up comedian.)
Love The Pitt (obviously). And we're just loving Rooster.
He's been a DINO for a while.
I'll be over here laughing for a while.
Planning your MPSA schedule?
Swing by Thursday afternoon, when I’ll be doing a book signing on the publication date of Coverage Denied!
RFK Jr. just said HHS is "cleaning up the risk pool" (i.e., people who are unhealthy) to bring down healthcare costs.
Proud professor moment: One of my wonderful public health undergrads wrote an op-ed for my Health Law & Politics class, which we then did a closer edit of together, and it just got accepted for publication. It's so great seeing my students think about health communication to move policy forward.
I've gotten this question from a lot of press, so I figured I'd just post.
The only stuff that matters in the budget resolution is the committee reconciliation instructions. You should completely ignore the backup numbers and the budget function totals. They don't matter at all. Forget they exist.
My book Coverage Denied: How Health Insurers Drive Inequality comes out in just 2 days! And the launch event will be one week from today, on 4/28 (post-MPSA and mercifully post-NFL draft). It is being livestreamed for those who not local. I hope you can make it! www.eventbrite.com/e/book-launc...
I’d say I’m sick of governance by Cartman but that’s an insult to Cartman.
I have pretty stunning help with morning teaching prep.
Finally! Glad to see my beloved home state/state of residence for 24 years is coming to its damn senses. Becerra is the correct choice, and I’m proud to have donated to his campaign.
This book is academic analysis that began in 2019 and has nothing to do with DPH.
Thanks to @medpagetoday.com for highlighting an excerpt of my book Coverage Denied: How Health Insurers Drive Inequality, which hits shelves this Thursday! www.medpagetoday.com/opinion/seco...
nearly all of these MAHA influencers are being compensated by tobacco companies, and very few disclose it. in many cases, they are marketing to children. nicotine pouches harm child brain development.
When I'm feeling egomaniacal and/or need a pick-me-up, I laugh that he and I are only a year apart. Being evil to the core has a reverse Dorian Gray effect.
This is what I imagine Stephen Miller’s soul would look like.
And keep your eyes peeled for part I of my interview with Prof. Yaver on Fireside Stacks later this week.

I love getting to start the week by signing off on a student's master's thesis.
It's a real treat getting to work with strong students who want to move American health policy forward, even in these difficult times.
Such important work and I'm so glad this found such a great home!
Boots on the Groundhog Day
From concept of a health plan (no plan) to concept of a deal with Iran (no deal)…
That would be amazing lol
Weird how they never do this in areas where Trump won!
DOJ Office of Civil Rights seem very focused on districts with a lot of Black voters.
You watch Jon Ossoff speak like this about the actual stakes & then you watch Andy Beshear speak about Funny Words, & the abject poverty of the latter approach to Democratic politics in 2026 is so stark that you don't know whether to laugh or cry about the latter.
When you’re desperate to keep your job….
