I keep saying “there are no great consumer AI products” and people keep replying to me with like model capability updates and wild OpenClaw setups and I really fear Software Brain is irreversible

I've been working professionally since 1999. This is the first time I've worked for a company that wouldn't buy necessary commercial IDE licenses no questions asked.
Just like machine guns weren't a known problem when the 2nd Amendment was passed. Right Alito?
Personally finding it difficult to work up empathy over Anthropic's work diminished by AI-generated derivatives. Not sure why exactly ...
It's true. Brendan Carr is a dummy.
People that strip debug symbols are not to be trusted.

It's hard for me not to see "skills" as mostly laziness. Code is supposedly free now. Have claude generate a program to deterministically do the same thing instead of have it interpret markdown non-deterministically every time.
That or commit to executable markdown github.com/lloeki/promp...
"how do I get the LLM to only run a single test file"
my sibling in web development, just run `npm run test filename` in a separate shell, this is a solved problem, we don't need to evaporate a wetland to run unit tests

Accurate. Puppies aren't that great and only marginally more convenient than diarrhea forever
per developer overhead/month
catered lunch $250
office space $200
software: $300
claude tokens: $12,600
utilities: $100
someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my company is dying

you say "replaced" like they were part of the base ubuntu server image previously :(
Apologies. In truth, I hadn't read your post. Now that I have, I still _really_ dislike the compilers analogy, but I agree "shilling" was the wrong word.
The tools are useful, but we (as an industry) are giving up too quickly on building good abstractions and just smashing the "generate" button.
I might have to frame this. 😂
if your specific niche is also "bizarre intertwingled anecdotes about 1950s-1990s computer scientists" i have built your holy grail:
just took a thousand oral histories from the @computerhistory.bsky.social museum and made them fully searchable and deeply interconnected

lol. lmao even. The tech is useful, but my goodness people are turning off their brains to shill it.
I die a little inside every time someone who should know better makes that bad analogy
I was told claude was a compiler. Now it's an interpreter too?!
I would not download a fly
screen shot of the language break-down for a github project - Clojure - 94.4% - Dockerfile - 3.0% - Makefile 2.6%
This is the ideal language breakdown.
You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like (my very happy last ~1.5 weeks) #clojure
> who is it for?
Almost certainly Hegseth and friends, anyone with purchasing power at the DoD
Alternatively...
I'm just saying, we won't know until we try.
His incompetent DoD murdered dozens of little girls.
And he doesn't know about that.
The buck stops with the 77M people that voted for this.
Mr President, the correct term is спецопера́ция or "special military operation"
