At least 88 of the largest corporations in America paid $0 in federal income tax for 2025. Corporate tax avoidance has increased at least in part due to President Trump's “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

As I’ve said: We elected the one person in the whole world who is NOT interested in reading the President’s Daily Brief.
From me ... President Trump has dramatically increased tariff taxes, enacted large tax cuts that primarily benefit the wealthy and corporations, dramatically curtailed IRS enforcement, and issued legally problematic regulations. Read more at: itep.org/year-one-of-...
Who is going to pay for this unpopular war against Iran, which is already tallied up at a cost of at least $200 billion?
@mettlinger.bsky.social argues that the rich and corporations should pay the costs through a temporary targeted tax. itep.org/the-rich-and...
There is truth to that. I will say though that a common problem with pollsters is that after a while they start to believe they know what the public thinks w/o the research and opine beyond the evidence. And they can drift from what the data actually show to fit their priors and preferences
Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Tesla collectively paid only a 4.9% federal income tax rate last year.

I am skeptical that there is a social media post that can create “understanding what is going on in the labor market.” Yes, the graph does not prove that “Everything is not fine”—still interesting when lined up against other claims, the nature of jobs in different industries, etc.
Musk gave 5 times as much to support to Republicans in the 2024 campaign as Tesla paid in federal income tax in the past 3 years.

Of the 13 games in the NFL playoffs, a Trump state team will have only won one
Harris state teams against Trump state teams went 5-0 in the NFL playoffs
The last team from a Trump supporting state is out of the NFL playoffs
Having recently learned of two former colleagues at progressive organizations who have sold out, I just want to express my appreciation for those who haven't. Being cynical about whether the work is worthwhile is easy, as is finding excuses for taking lucrative jobs pushing a corporate agenda.
I wished they'd ask whether Emmer has a problem with Jefferson Davis and the heroism of the confederacy
