My most liberal idpol radlib take is that I think it's pretty bad that
right wing forces are actively intervening on behalf of the Klan with the full weight of the state legal apparatus

Shouldn’t the first answer to this question, at this point in time especially, always be no? Do we know enough about LLMs to be able to use it to stand in for human participants in social science research? And why are these social scientists so confident it is?
They did no performance evaluation of the people they laid off. So they can’t make any claims about their performance. What we do know is:
1. The people fired had more experience than the people hired
2. The new hires come via a political process where they have to detail their support for Trump
House SS&T Dems just issued a report re NASA and the FY2026 budget: "Mission Aborted: How NASA Illegally Implemented the President's Budget Request Without Congressional Approval." Calls on Isaacman to "defend" NASA and not do the same w/FY2027 request.

INBOX: Amid rising tendons between Trump and Pope Leo, the administration has abruptly canceled an $11 million contract with Catholic Charities to shelter and care for migrant children who enter the U.S. alone, ending a relationship dating back to the first arrivals of Cuban exiles in South Florida.
Transgender discrimination is, by its very nature, sex discrimination. Discrimination based on sex is expressly prohibited under Montana’s unique Nondiscrimination Clause––“[n]either the state nor any person, firm, corporation, or institution shall discriminate on account of . . . sex . . . .” Thus, Article II, Section 4 is unequivocal in its intolerance for discrimination based on sex. Because sex discrimination involves a fundamental right under Article II, the appropriate level of judicial review is strict scrutiny. Snetsinger, ¶ 17. ¶28 Being transgender is also a suspect class under the Equal Protection Clause of Article II, Section 4,––“[n]o person shall be denied equal protection of the law.”
MONTANA SUPREME COURT: “Transgender discrimination is, by its very nature, sex discrimination,” and is subject to strict scrutiny under the Montana Constitution.
She was granted withholding of removal from India *decades* ago, and had been living and working legally (including for the U.S. government!) ever since.
But with third country removals now a real option, TSA shared her data with ICE and they arrested her at the airport on her way to a job.
In other words, impoundment was never legal. The first time it was adjudicated, they lost. The ICA didn't make impoundment illegal. It was always illegal.
Vought is now illegally impounding tens of billions of dollars.
The Russ Vought hearing is starting now. It's the first time Vought has testified before Congress since his confirmation hearings, so it's the first time Congress will be able to question him about the onslaught of illegal budgetary actions he has undertaken. I'll be posting in this thread.
Another morning of ICE sightings happening around Chicagoland and the northwest burbs as yes, they are still here, operating under the surface as they were before Bovino's spectacle.
ICE detaining doctors is absurd. Let me explain something: foreign-trained doctors get trained and practice in places where American medical graduates often do not want to go. They are not taking jobs from anybody. They go to undesirable locations and take undesirable jobs.
The CFTC. Sued. To PREVENT states. From regulating. The ["prediction"/scams/betting] industry.
I just… genuinely fucking hate these people's values and beliefs so so much.
This isn’t about differing political opinions. It’s about a man who has presided over the destruction of American biomedical research. Bhattacharya deserves no homecoming @stanforduniversity.bsky.social. He should be shunned forever. Good riddance.
April 4, 2026 President Jonathan Levin Office of the President 450 Jane Stanford Way, Building 10 Stanford University Stanford, CA 94305 president@stanford.edu Dean Lloyd Minor Stanford University School of Medicine 300 Pasteur Drive, Grant Building Stanford, CA 94305-5110 deansoffice_som@stanford.edu Dear President Levin and Dean Minor: I am writing to you as an alumnus, the parent of an alumnus, and someone, as the child of a faculty member, who was literally born (in the old Hoover Pavilion) and raised (in Pine Hill I) on the Stanford campus. I am deeply concerned about the conduct of one of your former faculty, currently in Emeritus status, Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharya. He is currently serving as Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and in some acting capacity (the legal status of which is unclear) as Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
I am concerned about whether my alma mater will welcome back Jayanta Bhattacharya if he wanted to return from this federal service.
I wrote this a week ago and have received no response at this point.

Temporary CDC “Director” Jay Bhattacharya is a non-practicing MD, economist, and whiny little shitbird with a persecution complex.
He has ZERO education, training or experience in epidemiological study design and has no business at deciding what methodology should be used to evaluate vaccines.
The more I think about the 70,000 ICE incarcerated without due process the more I think we are underreacting. People are literally trapped inside for profit prisons. We need to do something.
Oh, word? Copilot is for entertainment purposes only? So it was several billion dollars and multiple cross-sector privacy and consent violations all for a gag, then? Neat-o, Microsoft. Real keen.
A blue sign with a graphic of diverse people. There is orange writing on the sign that says guarantee healthcare for all
Each day during Public Health Week, @defendpublichealth.bsky.social will be highlighting two of the 10 planks in our People’s Health Platform.
Today we’re leading off with a banger:
GUARANTEE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL
To those still complaining about Artemis 2:
We spend 100× more on killing people for oil profits, but yeah, NASA’s the problem. 🤦🏽♀️
NASA: $25B
Defense: $901B
That’s 36 NASAs.
Space programs have driven major advancements in science, medicine, and technology, real benefits for humanity.
1. I've written a few times about Mamdani and what he can do for trans people to uphold his promises. But there are disingenuous people who apparently do not read articles, so I figured I would lay out his power and what other trans journos want him to do here directly and what is in his power.
Pfizer has ended its large Phase III Trial of an updated COVID19 vaccine.
They were not able to enroll enough people to meet their goal.
A major problem is the FDA’s wholly unreasonable demand that people with chronic conditions, who benefit most from the vaccine, not be allowed to participate.
The death of a nearly blind refugee from Myanmar who was found on a Buffalo street in February — five days after Border Patrol agents left him at a doughnut shop — has been ruled a homicide, authorities said Wednesday. https://to.pbs.org/3NZGHsz
Today is Trans Day of Visibility. Trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people have always been here — from the hijra of India to the Diné nádleehi to the leaders who built the modern LGBTQIA+ movement here in New York. Your existence is not up for debate. Your lives are not a political issue. We're fighting for a city where every trans New Yorker can live openly, safely, and with joy.
Accountability brings consequences.
And consequences are the only language corruption understands.
Money and political power do not outrank the Constitution.
They just need a wake up call and it’s coming at the midterms.👇
And this is coming from someone whose entire personality in middle school was based on those books.
Alice Augusta Ball found the cure for leprosy at 23.
She died in a mysterious lab accident at 24.
Arthur Dean stole her research, stole it and renamed it from "The Ball Method" to "The Dean Method."
It took 90 years before her original research papers were found and she got the credit due to her.
Classy. 🤡
@politico.com
remember when Musk & Zuckerberg tried to convince everyone they were going to have an MMA fight IRL?
yeah, this is how they talk to each other in private:
But now it's crept into "any woman who fails a DNA test is actually a man." They're not protecting women's sports. They're policing womanhood itself.
