A textured ribbed hat is shown on a white styrofoam mannequin head. It has a deep folded-up 2x2 ribbed brim and a knit/purl vertical pattern with slip stitches creating a raindrop pattern in those sections. The yarn is a soft copper patina green with subtle charcoal gray speckles.

For #showmeyourknits this week I finished up a green hat. 🧶 is Farmer’s Daughter BFl worsted and pattern is the Frost Ridge Beanie from Benjamin Matthews.

You’re welcome! I hope yours is too. This has been a dumpster fire of a week.

I think a neutral helps pull everything together too. Gray sounds perfect!

I used 3-1/2 skeins of the neutral color in a DK weight (around 850 yards) held single.

LMK if you need more info!

Of course! I did 7 rounds for the granny squares and then the joining round so it came to 8 total. I used mini skeins of sock yarn that were 90-92 yards each and held double. With a 4.0 mm hook I used all but maybe a yard or 3 of each mini - that’s what decided me on block size.

Dooo it! It would be perfect for those skeins. And thank you for the swoon😃

Super easy shell edging. Lullabylodge.com has a web tutorial but also a YouTube video.

I used Hooked by Robin’s join as you go YouTube tutorial. Pick the one for individual squares

Thank you so much!

Thank you! Can’t take too much credit for the colors - they came as a pack from a summer palette the dyer did last year. But I love them!

Folded baby blanket in blues, greens and coral, shown folded on a striped white and blue chair. The pattern has garter stripes of a neutral cream and an undulating wave pattern of the different colors. It looks very soft and squishy.

Image of a gray tabby cat with long white front legs and paws, peeking out from underneath a blue and white blanket’s edge making a cave over her. She has big ears and green eyes and looks sleepy. #catsofbluesky

After letting me know it was time for second breakfast and the couch cave needed to be rebuilt, we can finally settle in. If I don’t come back as my cat next time around, I’m going to be pissed.

For this week’s #showmeyourknits I’ve got a finished pair of Basket Weave Rib Socks. A bit fiddly to work but I love the finished result.

Happy to help!
You won’t need it right away but a solid 40” or longer will be helpful on the last 2 sections for sure.
Also if picking your own colors you need a light, a dark, 2 mediums (one cool and one warm works well) and a between light and medium, for the contrast to work well. ☺️

I have! I finished it this winter. Technically it’s not hard. Some of the rows are fiddly (the few slip stitch/cable ones) but not hard. The hard part is the monster amount of stitches on the needles at the end. They take fortitude and perseverance. DM if you want more info or help as you go!!

Rows of granny squares laid out on a wooden floor, unassembled. They alternate between dark autumnal colors and a neutral sand color. The toes of a pair of black trainers peel out at the bottom of the image.

Almost done with #grannysquares for this scrappy lapghan. Using #sockyarn minis held double and a neutral DK weight and will JAYG when all the blocks are done.
