Effects of chaperone selectivity on the assembly of plant Rubisco orthologs in E. coli We used an E. coli system to examine recognition of plant Rubisco chaperones for different Rubiscos. Identified factors influencing chaperone selectivity e

While we don't know how to assemble Griffithsia Rubisco yet, this expansion in SynBio capabilities (from Archer and friends) are very exciting - the high throughput engineering capabilities that they enable definitely bring us substantially closer to engineering higher specificity Rubisco.

That is more accurate than I can express. We will be dropping structure later this year with 4-way cysteine bonds, and this is the vibe.

Unique biogenesis and kinetics of hornwort Rubiscos revealed by synthetic biology systems Hornworts are non-vascular land plants, which diverged from vascular plants approximately 500 million years ago,ย yet the CO2 fixing enzyme (Rubisco) in hornworts has received little prior attention. This study develops the synthetic biology system to heterologously express hornwort Rubiscos and demonstrates that hornwort Rubiscos have different biogenesis dependencies. Further analyses of the kinetics of hornwort Rubiscos showย that Rubiscos are indeed phylogenetically constrained.

Check out our hornwort Rubisco kinetics:
