Total gridlock on Broadway, Maryland, Westminster, Wolseley of folks trying to get home. Policy and budget decisions have incentivized driving but the irony is that we’ve ended up with a terrible experience on the user end.

Weird to call this “innovation”. Why not then run a pilot project on a reduced road renewal budget?
I’m expecting full implementation will take time. But you also need enough wins in the early phases to show its value to the public. When I look at streets like Maryland, Osborne, Broadway, I don’t know where the wins will come from without a complete reimagining of how those corridors function
I am hopeful about the reconfigured #winnipeg transit network that’s coming next June. Can someone in the know tell me if the new network includes more dedicated/diamond bus lanes? Frequency is great but I don’t know how it’s possible when they’re trapped behind cars and parked cars.
The day has arrived.
45 years after pedestrians were first barricaded from crossing the street at Winnipeg’s storied Portage and Main intersection, the concrete walls have finally started coming down.

I’ve been on the lookout for a portfolio tool that posts like Instagram and I feel like I finally found it in Padlet. When everything is so individualized and interest-driven, it helps me to stay connected with each student and their creative processes.
Riding the RTD Train from DEN to Union Station. $10. Uber would’ve cost 7 times that and barely faster. Transit is the way
Waiting to board a flight to Denver to attend the Big Picture Learning Leadership Summit! It is the first non-music-specific conference I’ll be attending. It is high time to push myself into a setting where I feel out of depth. Really eager to visit BPL schools and see it in action.
Does adding bike lanes impact the number of cyclists? Does commuting by bike affect your health?
See my next video on how bike lanes impact traffic.
But the answer to the first 2 questions is a resounding yes!
I biked past you on Wellington yesterday and almost yelled “when are you joining Bluesky” but stopped just short — no one likes getting yelled at while biking. Welcome here!
That’s my neighbourhood! Our city is far from perfect and the same can be said about our bike infrastructure. But little by little, the culture is shifting. Great advocates who champion these ideals help too. Looking forward to tuning in.
Me too!
Contextualized and real world learning, students regularly spending time outside of schools to pursue their interests via internships. Much more than that, but those are two big things. Think 7 Oaks’ MET Schools. I’ve been trying to adapt it to my gr 11/12 music course this year.
Officially saying hi!
I teach gr 6-12 #MusicEd with a focus on creativity and design. Lately, I’ve been motivated by Big Picture Learning principles and am muddling through ways to weave them into my practice. My big interest outside of teaching is urban design.
Always up for a good chat! #SkyEdu
