History in the making! 🎓 Huge congratulations to Nora Zöllner, who successfully defended her PhD - earning top honors!
Nora is the very first graduate of our MibiNext cohort. We couldn’t be prouder! A massive achievement for her and a major milestone for the entire network.

Our mibinet project was well received at the fungal genetics conference in Asilomar. @mibinet.bsky.social
Some reflections on #Fungal26 This was a great meeting as always but set against some turbulent times of course, which meant many regular attendees were not present. This thread is mainly for them. However, the proportion of first-time attendees was very high and very international. #Fungal26 1/15

SWARM is an AI framework for nanopore direct RNA sequencing that detects m6A, pseudouridine (Ψ), and m5C mods at single-nucleotide & single-molecule resolution.
Key innovation: Crosstalk-aware training with non-target mods & validated cellular signals to reduce false positives.

We are indebted to Alessia Buscaino for the discovery that the Candida albicans type SC5314 type strain is an RNAi Argonaut mutant. Her great talk today also shows that this is relevant to microbiome and macrophage interactions and has host niche specific consequences. @ecfg172025.bsky.social
