I can confirm this. I was initiated into the faith 2 months before my 6th birthday and so such ideas were just the water I was swimming in and I had no idea that it wasn't the way everyone thought. Also of course I naturally assumed that my parents, teachers and mentors knew what they were on about!

Despite a couple of them talking big, no police department has actually intervened in ICE assaults, but simply stood by. I'm not aware of one phone call for police assistance actually providing protection to the caller from ICE. This exposes everything about how aligned ICE and the police are.
Furthermore they don't "finally see" anything. They always saw it. They went with it because it gave access to power. The only thing that has changed is its usefulness has deteriorated and to a lesser extent, now there is fear of consequences.

I saw so few young people at the local No Kings protest. The crowd easily skewed north of 50, even 60. A few 40-something with kids in tow, a few 20-somethings. Meanwhile veterans of the campus protests of the 60s lament that most young people aren't interested or curious to take up that baton. WTF.
