Feel you. Despite my love for FF, the 3D games always have some jank in their gameplay. One of the reasons for this I think is because each entry is so different
They don’t fully iterate on existing mechanics, so they’re always back at square one so to speak. 13 is rough, but it looks sweet doing it

Even just the 3D games: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, [I don’t adore 15 but it has the swagbones of 13 Versus], 16, SoP, Dissidia, even NT, ALL DOPE in the visual department imo. That’s a historic run!!

Ignoring its gameplay for a second… Final Fantasy as a whole has excelled in its stylistic execution, which is nuts considering its long legacy. Lots of innovation, yet it remains humble and clean.
