If my garden is anything to go by, the trick is to plant them next to a cherry tree. I have yet to eat a cherry from ours, but the birds eat well, and the haskaps aren’t touched.

Also hilarious that they’d ask “where is the infrastructure” when highlighting a development on a major transit route, across the street from an athletics venue and community space, on the same block as a grocery store.
The answer is literally right there.

Change is unsettling, even an obviously necessary and beneficial one. My question is: Why are people such whiny babies?

Nah, safe consumption sites don’t encourage/profit off consumption. They’re a resource for consumers, not an encouragement to start/continue consuming.

You used that exact word to describe them less than 24 hours ago?

If they were funded through taxes, donations, or some other external source they would be safe consumption sites. Since they’re incentivized to sell as much alcohol as possible (and therefore as quickly as possible) in order to make money, they’re “safer”consumption sites at best.

“Yes. You can.“

Art and culture are beyond “renewable” resources—the more you ‘extract’ , the more there is. We’re here to open this leadership’s eyes to that. Cuts will do nothing but harm the whole province.

0.0006 speeches?!

We’re measuring budget items in speeches now. That bike lane? It’ll cost about 4 speeches.

Dryer repair technician recommendations—do you have them?
My dryer is making a heckuva racket, not sure why (possibly belt or pulley needs replacing) and I’d rather not replace it!

I don’t know who’s managing Richmond Yards, but they seem to be doing an incredible job at filling their spaces with a broad variety of stores and services. I really hope it continues and is successful so that more developments follow suit!

Glad “bulk” was in quotation marks because there are two apartment buildings on my block (literally the first place I checked) that aren’t listed.

I also remember the answer being, “well that costs a lot of money,” and being so proud of myself for not absolutely losing it.

When I went to the community meeting about the forum renovation/temporary shelter in the multipurpose room (last summer, maybe?), that was the only suggestion that someone made that I can remember.

This rendering makes it look like the plan is to restore the windows and move the letters back down to where they used to be

I think if all the windows and details that have been bricked over were restored it wouldn’t look nearly as bad. I also like the idea of sports bros learning to appreciate a little bit of texture and history at a young age.
