From what I’ve seen, the extremists in Israel (the settlers who brutally occupy Palestine territory) are beyond the pale. And they are keeping Netanyahu in power. But the US ultimately is what provides Israel’s military and economic might.

Chris Hayes on Democrats' upset win in Trump's home district:
"The Republican candidate received the President's 'complete and total endorsement.' Trump also encouraged all 'great patriots in the district to vote for Maples.' Well, that didn't work so well."
Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.
Tulsi Gabbard released a fundraising video in 2019 titled "Trump's Path To War With Iran"
"We've gotta stop Donald Trump from starting a war with Iran."
I have never seen a politician more directly copy this speech in my life
That’s pathetic. What planet has he been living on?
Talk about failing up!
The thing about martyrs is that they are MARTYRS. Johnson uses the word as if it were a pejorative implying something phony.

Will there ever be a broad, society-wide acknowledgement that “we” brought Trump on ourselves? There needs to be some kind of cultural reckoning that through voting or failing to vote America brought a vile, malevolent man into power, knowing full well the kinds of things he would do.
Thus we may conclude that executions are standard operating procedure.
Why should we expect the head of the FBI to know any of that boring legal stuff?
It’s from 1911, long before Truman was President. As President, in 1948 he desegregated the US armed forces. The original post is perfect proof that things *do* change, and people do change.
Actually, MUCH has changed. That letter was from 1911. In 1948 Truman desegregated the US armed forces.
That would not be an unusual opinion for the time. Racism was literally part of the curriculum — certainly at the college level. It was “scientific” from the late 1800s and well into the 1900s.
It’s only fair, though, to acknowledge that Truman was the President who integrated the US armed forces.
Hell, he thinks prices can be reduced by more than 100%, so I wouldn’t expect much from him.
As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

How does this compare to what the W. Bush administration did to justify torture, rendition — to give it a legal basis? Not that it necessarily matters; I’m just curious.
At least that act would have been between consenting adults (presumably consenting).
Yes, so tiresome, too!
Seems concerning
Cowards. The universities should have joined forces. They would have been irresistible.
Is there ever going to be an interviewer who pushes back and tells him that immigrants seeking asylum is different than insane asylums?
His campaign promises? I think he was honest, and people imagined he was liberal when he was actually conservative — in temperament as well as policy. By conservative I mean conservative, not radical right.
Amén. Too many voters have been naive for too long.
It’s not a Dem problem if you don’t listen to what they say.
@grindr.bsky.social Is this an official Grindr account?
Yeah, Don. Einstein himself broke down in fat, wet tears when faced with that test.
Yes, what the fuck???
Yesterday's No Kings protests were apparently the largest since the first Earth Day in 1970
The NYT covered that story with a six column headline across the top of the paper and two full pages inside
Today, two small pics below the fold and a story on page A23
They constantly let America down
