A Practical Guide to Dating a Demon is cozy YA romantasy with fake dating, a demon who shows up unexpectedly, and a mystery around unstable magic. Fun, charming, and full of found family vibes, though the ending felt a bit abrupt. #queerbooks #diversebooksky

Book mail just arrived: According to Plan by Christen Randall. Queer, ADHD teens, rogue zines, coffee shop flirting, and questioning The Plan? I am absolutely in. Grateful for the review copy from @simonteen.bsky.social and cannot wait to share my thoughts soon.

Reverie by K.C. Rainey was a cozy, easy fantasy read with a sea-swept small town, apothecary vibes, found family warmth, and a slow-building β€œsomething is wrong here” mystery. Very slow burn and slow pacing, but I’m interested enough to continue the trilogy. #queerbooks #indiebooks πŸ“šπŸ’™πŸ“šπŸͺπŸ“šβ°πŸ“šπŸŒŽ

Until the Clock Strikes Midnight was a breath of fresh air. Cozy romantic fantasy with Cinderella vibes, dual POV, great chemistry, and an adorable epilogue. Low-stress tone but still fast-paced and emotionally thoughtful, with nuanced mental health representation. #queerbooks #diversebooksky

Freddie and Stella Got Hot is one of those rare books where the comps are accurate: Jenny Han meets Mean Girls, with a dash of Heathers energy. Chaotic, messy, and still well written. I read it in one sitting, and the ending is fantastic.

Cover reveal: Raven of the Scorned. I am STUNNED by this cover.

Daughter of the Dead was one of my 5-star reads last year, and I’ve been eagerly waiting for this sequel since I finished Book 1 last September.

β€œThe daughter of the dead will make the world whole.”

Thank you to R&R Book Tours for the review copy. When Everything Was Fresh & Green is an excellent contemporary fantasy with a fresh magic system, found family, and a steady ramp-up that kept me hooked. Astrid and Cece were favorites. Cozy vibes with teeth.

Leave It on the Track is a heartfelt YA about grief, anxiety, queer first love, and finding community through roller derby. The grief metaphor (a ball in a box that gets smaller over time) really stuck with me. Tender, funny, and hopeful without pretending healing is linear.

Just got a finished copy of A Steep and Savage Path by JJA Harwood. I haven’t read it yet, but it’s gothic vampire fantasy with an afterlife quest to reclaim a sister’s soul. Enemies-to-lovers + eerie vibes? I’m in.

This novella is a Grimm’s-style satiric fairy tale with teeth. Darkly funny, disturbing, and somehow packs a ridiculous amount of commentary on family expectations and obligation into 97 pages. Also: Lady Gastrell is the worst, and I loved her.

Thank you H. & S. Alvaurence for gifting me a copy.

Finished An Arcane Inheritance by Kamilah Cole. Dark academia vibes, secret societies, forbidden magic, and a university built on exploitation. Starts a bit slow, then the back half goes bananas with a twist I *truly* didn’t see coming.

Read Mimeograph by Eira A. Ekre in one sitting. 64-page speculative sci-fi with surreal dread: printing machines that stop giving you what you ask for and start giving you what they think you need. Thought-provoking and unsettling in the best way.

It's that time of year where I start to put together my "Most Anticipated" list. I want to feature books from diverse indie authors, so if you have a release in 2026 - drop a line here!

A digital promotional image for The Lavender Blade by E.L. Deards. The cover features swirling lavender illustrations, jellyfish, a dagger, and a gothic castle below the title. The tagline reads: "Two con artists. One real demon. No more running." The background is filled with lavender flowers and foliage.

I’m so excited to be reading The Lavender Blade by E.L. Deards. Queer con men faking exorcisms until it all becomes terrifyingly real? Sign me up. This is gothic, intense, and full of devotion, magic, and danger.

Afterlife bureaucracy. Ghost-reaper tension. And a romance that’s finally catching fire.

Just finished Hate to Haunt You and this series continues to be an absolute chaotic queer delight. Check out my Insta for more of my review!

If anyone other than my 2 year old nephew FaceTimed me on the one day a week I get to sleep in, it would have been the last time we ever spoke...but something about how damn excited that kid is to see me means he's instantly forgiven.

β€œElaine Ho’s Cry, Voidbringer is a sweeping, powerful story that achieves what fantasy does best: explore timely themes against a speculative backdrop. Elaine Ho’s rich and vivid storytelling ensnares you from the very first page and challenges you to reflect on humanity, oppression, and corruption.” - N.E. Davenport, Author of The Blood Trials and Our Vicious Oaths

A bold, futuristic book promotion image set in space. At the top, large pink-and-white text reads: "Ever met a spaceship more human than a werewolf or a vampire?" Centered is a glowing neon-framed image of the book cover for Of Monsters and Mainframes by Barbara Truelove. The cover features a stylized open mouth with vampire fangs and a vibrant explosion of abstract colors and geometric shapes around the title. In the background, a spaceship or satellite orbits Earth against a starry sky. Below the book, pink and white text says: β€œOf Monsters and Mainframes will blow your mind, here’s why you need this chaotic, tender, and hilarious ride in your life right now.”

Genre‑bending sci‑fi alert: AI ships, monsters in space, & paranormal whodunits unite in Of Monsters and Mainframes. This wild ride made me laugh, cry, rethink humanity.
