Tis the season to contemplate if that flooded section of your ag-field is even profitable and might be better suited for a windrow, wetland or grassed waterway

The Neeganii-iishawin 2026 gathering backdrop
Over the last 3 days I’ve had the honour and privilege to attend Neegani-Iishawin in Thunder Bay to learn more about the exciting economic development opportunities being led by First Nations communities in Northern Ontario (some of which might include bioeconomies like forestry). Chi Miigwetch!!
Interesting! I’ll take a look and scope it out!
Like a Pomodoro timer? I might be able to cook something up
If you aren’t learning, you aren’t living
I co-authored a paper assessing the impacts of afforestation on LAI and Fcover in Ontario, Canada. Check it out!

It's only built for an Intel Mac atm, but I'll do a Windows and Linux build ASAP! Need a solid eyeball break though.
First submission to a game jam. Second ever game. It's super rough, but I'm high key super proud of myself to even get it to this point considering I made everything from scratch in one month.

Screen cap of the simulation world. An isometric tile based grid with green (plants), blue(herbivores), red (carnivores) and grey (rocks)
Screen cap of the phase plot chart of the simulation, showing the populations are stable
The populations graphed through time show the populations roughly follow Lotka Volterra cycles.
Recently finished a side project where I simulated a stable 3-tier ‘ecosystem’ of plants, herbivores and carnivores in pygame. Herbivores eat plants and carnivores eat herbivores in stable phases, in line with Lotka Voterra equations, but with added spatiality. You can read about it on my GitHub

Some important thoughts here, especially around seed collection

Bathroom stall graffiti art that reads “My transphobe grandmother is a pain in the ass” in red marker
My (partners) transphobe grandmother is a pain in the ass
Jfc that’s honestly sad. When will people realize “inconveniences” are what make life beautiful?
I’ve been making an ecological management sim (a non game game if you will) in pygame and I gotta say, I’m having a blast, but it’s clearly a masochistic black hole endeavour and I should really just stop and get back to working on music…
