Abolition of for profit healthcare, prisons and ICE. Abolition of billionaires and corporate monopolies. Abolition of politicians who have pledged "Zionist loyalty". THAT is the moderate position.

The #NHS must get #Palantir out of our patient data. @marcusbaw.com @england.nhs.uk @zackpolanski.bsky.social
If we wake up and find Trump unleashed devastation, Labour’s silence will be absolutely damning.
If Trump has beyond hopefully de-escalated, it’s still damning.
In the face of genocide, what exactly is the point of the silent UK Prime Minister?
Also a perennial reminder that in times of fast-moving news, a TON of unverified photos, videos, audio, and 'news stories' circulate, go viral, and perpetuate misinformation. Please take time to double-check things before posting and/or sharing! Verifying reports can take time.
“A growing number of NHS staff are refusing to work on Palantir’s health data platform over ethical concerns about the controversial US tech company”

I'm sure someone in NHSE asked Palantir if the data model was interoperable, this solid block of YAML was given to them, and they were technically naive enough to be satisfied with it.
Loving this Issue raised by @oli.zilla.org.uk against the Palantir FDP 'Canonical Data Model'

#2 "Make the CDM definition vendor neutral"
I absolutely agree - how can this be the NHS data model when it includes the word 'Palantir' more than 1000 times
I'm pretty pleased with this. 8 days of intermittent work, with a clear vision of a simpler, faster, and less infuriatingly opaque set of tools for playing with SNOMED-CT in a local dev env.

Nice one @comparesoftware.bsky.social !
I highly recommend reading Joe's book - it's plain speaking (unlike most of the healthcare tech literature) and it's essential reading whether you're a startup CEO or a CCIO or just curious as to how we could have made so little progress for so much money.
And if you want a quick intro to the book, here's Joe on Everything Digital Health last year taking about his booook

"'I will continue to refuse to engage with any work involving this company,' they said. 'I know that there are staff who are already working as slowly as they can when pressured to work with Palantir.'"
Guys, the President was literally threatening to invade the territory of a NATO country earlier this year, to the point where they had to deploy troops to deter it. That has consequences.
The West is appalled by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Couldn't care less about the blockade of Cuba, the invasion of Lebanon or the continuing Genocide in Gaza.
Warning to open source maintainers: the Axios supply chain attack started with some
very sophisticated social engineering targeted at one of their developers simonwillison.net/2026/Apr/3/s...

Happy Easter folks. My tragicomic book "FHIR and Loathing in Las Vegas" about 2 decades in Health IT is free to download this weekend only.

Sorry Windows users, it's only available for Linux and MacOS at the moment, but I'm sure that will change. I know Windows may have an inbuilt voice-to-text but the downside is you don't know where your data is going on the way back to your screen. Voxtype is completely open source and self-hosted.
It's absolutely game changing to have push to talk voice typing everywhere on your computer. All the transcription is done locally on my laptop using open source models. Writing documents and catching up with emails becomes a pleasure again.
A few weeks ago I set up the free and open source Voxtype on my main work laptop, hooked to a hotkey (CapsLk because I normally disable its Caps Lock function anyway so it's a dead key for me)
I cannot recommend Voxtype highly enough!

Ministers are exploring triggering the break clause in Palantir's NHS contract. I've signed the open letter to Wes Streeting calling on him to get Palantir out of the NHS. www.foxglove.org.uk/campaigns/we...
Based on the fact that even after 15 years deeply embedded in GP IT, I wasn't 100% sure of all the details around GP Connect, IM1 and GP System Partner APIs, I thought perhaps a bit of a guide was in order.
Wrote this - I hope it's of some help to others:

Palantir killed more children IN A SINGLE AIRSTRIKE than anyone could hope to 'save' with the NHS Federated Data Platform, over any number of years, and with any amount of NHS money.
Are we cool with that, Wes Streeting? Is that consistent with "NHS Values"?

Let's focus on something we ALL agree on:
#ReleaseTheEPSTEIN_Files
The US bombed a primary school in Iran, killing 168 girls.
Why is nobody talking about this anymore?
These abominable war crimes should not be forgotten — and nor should the lives, hopes and dreams of human beings who were slaughtered with impunity.
