๐Ÿฆ With many banks closing (including here in the ward), Post Offices let you access cash.

โœ‰๏ธ You can withdraw/deposit cash & cheques for most UK bank accounts at Uddingston & Bothwell Post Offices Monday to Saturday.

๐Ÿ“‹ You can also handle some DVLA/Passport Office forms โ€” and can even post a letter

Smashing night in Bellshill at Steven Bonnar's candidate adoption night!

Stevie's a true local guy and was the first person to welcome me into the constituency when I returned to Lanarkshire.

He's represented the area on NLC and in Westminster. Let's add Holyrood to that list on May 7th!

๐ŸŒ Only 9 of the world's 200 or so countries allow greyhound racing. I'm pleased as of this week Scotland and Wales have removed ourselves from that list (and Aotearoa / New Zealand are in the process of doing the same)

๐Ÿฆด The speed of a greyhound is an impressive sight but they're such delicate creatures with thin skin and easily breakable bones.

๐Ÿ›‘ My 40mph couch potato and I are very happy that Mark Ruskell's Bill has passed and Scotland will join the vast majority of nations around the world who have banned greyhound racing.

Sid spoke of his experience, his continuing worries despite a ceasefire, and proposed a motion on behalf of Scottish Asians for Independence, which passed by acclaim, calling for a change to procurement rules to prevent the purchase of goods or services linked to illegal settlements.

The Ambassador was followed by Sid Khan, a Scot who was recently held in an Israeli jail following his attempt as part of an international flotilla to deliver aid to Gaza.

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ He thanked us for the solidarity that our party and wider Scottish society has shown to the plight of Palestinian people and the cause of Palestinian statehood.

๐Ÿค It is important that we remain a committed voice for peace, democracy and self-determination in the Israel-Palestine region.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ The UK finally recognised the State of Palestine just three weeks ago. At SNP Conference, we were privileged and honoured today to hear from the new Ambassador of Palestine to the UK, Dr Husam Zomlot.

Personally, I'm proud that on a number of occasions I have stood up to Labour as they take decisions in SLC that make working conditions worse for our thousands of employees that deliver vital services across South Lanarkshire.

Despite Westminster controlling employment legislation, it's the SNP that has took up the mantle as the party of working people. It is the SNP who are delivering what workers are asking for in the Scottish Parliament and in the councils we control.

It was great to hear from Roz Foyer, STUC General Secretary at SNP Conference this afternoon. This is the first ever address by the Scottish Trades Union Congress to our party.

๐ŸšŒ The guidance used to assess โ€˜safeโ€™ walking routes to school is over 20yrs old and not fit for purpose โ€” it doesn't even require a pavement.

โŒ Labour have used that document to remove school transport from over 8,000 kids.

๐ŸŸก Today we brought a motion requesting a local review.
๐Ÿฅ€ They blocked it.

Renewing a driving license online:
ยฃ14

Renewing a DL by post because the online system doesn't work:
ยฃ17 fee
+ ยฃ10 photo booth prints
+ ยฃ2.13 postal order fee
+ ยฃ1.70 stamp

Why is the UK Government so technologically illiterate and why does it make a ยฃ14 application ยฃ31?

We have submitted an urgent business request to discuss Labourโ€™s cuts to school transport at the Executive Committee meeting this morning.

We demand that Councillors have a chance to scrutinise the final details of the cuts before they are introduced - this may be the last opportunity.

Extremely disappointed to see Labour effectively fabricating figures and quoting me as a source. When my (simple, full election, not a by-election prediction) model had Labour narrowly ahead of the SNP, I was not yet showing Reform figures. I have never published anything with these exact figures.

Today's life management โ€“ getting Control Centre organised on my phone.

Frequent controls on page 1, then a page each for downstairs/upstairs smart tech.

Only annoyance is that there's no IF statements in Apple Shortcuts so my work phone line on/off can't be one button.

Sweltering day to rally for a republic on Calton Hill, Edinburgh.

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ's tradition of popular sovereignty is much older than the Windsor rule of these islands. A modern, democratic nation deserves an elected head of state that represents and is answerable to us all.
