I just think that it's important to say today, in light of Gary Bettman's "excitement" for round one of the NHL playoffs, that the team that won the Pacific - thus ensuring home ice for at least two rounds - would have missed the cut in the East.

It really is amazing how they both turned it around right when it seemed least likely - I had finally sworn off watching the Bills that year, and didn't jump back on until it looked like they could do it. I never really thought about that before

Columbia suspended, expelled, and retroactively revoked degrees in proceedings that were so arbitrary and capricious they were overturned by a NY state judge. Literally the only evidence Columbia submitted came from sealed records of dismissed arrests—records that Columbia shouldn't have even had.

The obvious answer here is that the student protest movement was broadly smeared as anti-semitic and aligned with terrorists, and a variety of institutions from government, media and the universities acted as if that smear was true, threatening, suspending, expelling and even deporting students.

I am heartbroken to hear of Marty Gugino's passing. I will write as proper a tribute as I can later today, but for now, all I can say is: Rest In Power, friend.
