Grad students and professors are left out of collective bargaining bill unless Spanberger steps in Governor Abigail Spanberger is considering a bill that would expand collective bargaining for some government employees but deny it to others.

@aaup.org is one of many organizations looking to expand collective bargaining rights for all. Private sector workers are governed by Federal law. As part of Federalism, state workers are governed more so by state law. So many conservative states - don’t honor cb rights.

Early in adulthood, I was struck by a Dem Party leadership’s unwillingness to fight for Black peoples’ right to vote in FL or OH, even at the expense of the presidency. Virginia Dems debating whether to expand labor union power while Trump races to institutionalize authoritarian power seems similar.
