I polish my own boots because 1) it’s kinda zen and 2) I like giving subs a standard. Plus I like watching them struggle.
Personally I use a horsehair brush to apply the polish and one to buff it. When I get a several coats in I’ll start to use a buffing cloth on top of using a buffing brush
