I'd buy them a bunch of tiny cars with the cool "S" on the driver side door.
The next time they turn into a swarm of snails, we'd put them into the tiny cars, and watch the escargot.

I SO should have done that.
I had my earbuds in listening to music from my phone, but it was inside on the charger.
Lesson learned, stay strapped at all times.
I hate my brain at the moment.
I was out mowing and thought of an absolute banger if some banter for my book, and knowing I have the fog I ran inside to write it down straight away.
It's gone. The whole thing. I got nothing.
There is no "overkill." There is only "open fire" and "reload."

a two panel meme panel 1 - geordi signalling 'no' with the text data centres and images of data centres Panel 2 - geordi signalling 'yes' with the text "data centaurs" and a crudely edited image of the character data from star trek pasted on top of a centaur
do you ever wake up at 3am and think "shit that's a good idea, I better write that down so I can share it later on"
If you wanna inject some positivity into this world, my request to you is:
If you like a creative person (artist, musician, craftsperson, literally anything), tell them you like their stuff. Doesn't have to be me, in fact I'd prefer it if it wasn't, but you'll make their day, I promise.
I’m sorry he got so blackout drunk they had to ask for SWAT door busting equipment?!
Good to see NSW's high court doing its job.

Genre Eligibility Genre Requirements & Romance: your central plot needs to be Fantasy or SciFi or a genre mashup which includes Fantasy and or SciFi. Books where the central plot is a romance (and the SciFi/ Fantasy elements are mere backdrop to it are, alas not a good fit for this blog. Books with romantic subplots are ok, so long as there's a Fantasy/ SciFi or subgenre of either main plot. Eg. Ready Player One, SciFi with a romance arc where both LI's are also saving the (future) world from a SciFi villain would be fine. Rep Eligibility Minimum Rep Requirement: Queer inclusive and normative Fantasy and SciFi. (Meaning at the very least you have queer side characters. And characters in your book do not expect everyone to be cis/ het -your book is not cis-het normative. Cis/ het and queer authors are all welcome.) Especially welcome: Queer main characters -especially trans- especially written by queer/ trans authors! Bonus Rep: found family/ friendship group rep. Disability -including neurodivergent- rep, and -if your books is set on Earth- cultural and ethnic diversity. Categories Eligible: YA and Adult Fiction, short stories, novellas and full length novels.

Is it still ok to bake the tato in it's jacket?
Cos I love a baked tater, and yes I eat the skin when I do.
If I every won the lottery, I'd stay quiet, but their'd be signs.
I'd open something like Auntie and Uncles here in town but so much better. Space for gaming, actual Indie authors, a huge section just for Queer books, a small patisserie that doubles as a bar at night. Open 24 hrs a day to everyone.
I'd respect them more if they'd used crayons over this crap.
I love reading novels. I’m always amazed by folks who don’t read fiction. There is nothing better, to me, than being in the middle of a book that you can’t wait to return to. It’s like living two lives at once.
Travis is great with whatever he reads, but Mark Of The Fool is also an amazing story.
I'm going to say anything read by Travis Baldree. That guy's voice is liquid gold.
RC truck-kun, sending your action figures to their new world
So, there's an anime Knights and Magic, that's similar in theme if you're interested.
Wandering Inn. LitRPG, but beware the emotional gutpunch. Great story, but can be a tear jerkerer.
Lastly, Quill And Still. Cosy LitRPG.
Hopefully this gives you a decent TBR, but if you can give me an idea what genres you like I can better guide you. LitRPG pairs well with a LOT of other genres.
Beware Of Chicken. Wuxia / Xanxia - Chinese progression fantasy. Cosy and hilarious.
Tower Of Somnus. Cyberpunk LitRPG.
Mother Of Learning. Groundhog Day style progression fantasy.
The Land. OG LitRPG.
Now, my own recommendations:
He Who Fights With Monsters, a Japanese Australian pulled into a world of magic and gods. LitRPG lite.
Arcane Ascension and Weapons & Weilders, both by Andrew Rowe. Progression fantasy.
Defiance Of The Fall. LitRPG.
Mark Of The Fool. Progression fantasy.
Woohoo! My time to shine!
If you liked Carl, @erinampersand.bsky.social made a great infographic on what to read next based on what part of DCC you liked.
Add to that, her own Apocalypse Parenting series is really good.
Organising writers is like herding cats.
Not that I'm aware of.
Knights in fiction tend to be portrayed as lumbering oafs, but they were nobility and likely educated. A LitRPG about a smart knight leveraging the system would be a good read.
"No, okay, my mums taught me about sliders when I had a crush on a girl in my class last year. Preference in partner, sexuality, gender, and expression are all sliders, like the ones used in character customisation." He demonstrated with air quotes. "People make names for the different sections and combinations, but it's individual to each person. Noobkitty's sliders for sexuality, gender and expression are probably all near the feminine side. A sapphic is someone whose preference in partners leans towards people whose sliders are mostly feminine, but allows for nuance and middle sliders." "it means her range is femboys to sword lesbians," said Fizzypop.
Mistbind's Noobkitty on Royal Road is a fun slice of life litrpg about a cat beastkin lesbian baker
And comes with the single best description of LGBT I've ever read, it's so nuanced and yet so simple and easy to understand
Also go read it if you want a nice chill story, it's relaxing, cute & gay
Bsky staff is scrambling to convince ppl that today's outage has nothing to do with their embrace of ai. That's great. We should make them scramble more. The cost of replacing competent humans with AI needs to be greater on every single level for every single company.
Hilariously, it's part of the Twin Cities, Townsville and Thuringowa. Two cities that mushed together as they spread.
I was born in a city in Australia literally named Townsville.
Towns
Ville
We are SO bad at naming.
