Denial is one of the stages of grieving. What they don't tell you is that those stages aren't necessarily linear, and that you do tend to jump back and forward through them.

The Hutt River has about 10 times the flow now (in cubic metres a second) than it was having at 3pm [link works in Chrome but seems a bit iffy in Safari] graphs.gw.govt.nz/envmon?view=...
Earlier in the day her profile said no NSFW stuff.
I feel bad for her, but I also feel that she is so far down some hole that you could turn up with a hot chocolate and cookies and ask how she was doing and it would still be an affront.
I'm still thinking about this and how good it looks.
I would happy have it for my dinner.
I actually went and looked her up on Clearsky (because I was slightly worried about her).
She has posted over 5,000 times since joining in January this year, and has been blocked by almost 3x as many people as follow her.
I suspect screaming into the void is a habit.
Profile has been completely rewritten. And yes I’m a bad person for using my other account to check.
I honestly regret pointing out that the thread was about AoNZ politics to her.
I never meant to start a pile on. 😢
It would not surprise me.
It looked good on George Michael but he is unique in history.
Also, as a straight friend, I can confirm that they are at their scratchiest from about 12 hours post-shave until about day 5, at which point they start to soften up. I’m still not a fan.
I actually feel bad for even responding in the first place, because she’s having an absolute meltdown, and I’m a little bit worried about her, but because she blocked as soon as she replied to each poster, there’s no way to apologise to her.
Maybe the number of them that came down in the storm a few weeks back?
It is. Someone mentioned Act, the person responded that Act want relevant because it was a political party in AoNZ, so it wasn’t relevant. I mentioned that given the thread was about politics in AoNZ and apparently we’re all very bad people for not specifying our location in each post.
But we do have some exceptionally pretty scenery. And, as you well know, anything affecting the rest of the world can’t possibly touch those living on this island!
*ducks and covers*
It really is.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this too. In some ways it was almost a blessing that it was so quick. Hold her hand whenever you can. ❤️🩹
Yeah, there’s a couple of spots in Central Otago and mid~Canterbury that I think might possibly be bunker-type scenarios. Tall, solid perimeter fences around a block kind of stick out in rural areas.
Soz. Although I got blocked for my efforts, so…
Empathy to you both on your loss. 💛
My mum was given a matter of weeks, we got 4 days.
It’s horrible how sneaky it is. My mum would have had hospital visits for gastric stuff in the months leading up to it, and up until about 2 weeks prior was seemingly enjoying her best health in decades.
The more they learn about it the better.
And it’s always people who believe that they truly understand social issues… while being entirely oblivious to the way they themselves other the rest of the world. 🤷♀️
My absolute favourite bit is that their latest post (not in the thread) tells everyone that they must always at least add their flag if not posting about the USA.
But they don’t add the USA flag to their own post.
(I already got blocked for saying I was going to check they do that themselves.) 🙄
BRB, I’m off to check your posts first to make sure you preface each and every one with your location.
My lady, this is a thread about politics in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Imagine that you imagined that the person you were talking to was talking about US politics.
It’s a General Election year in Aotearoa New Zealand. We’re perfectly entitled to talk amongst ourselves about our own politics. If you want to join in, you first need to acknowledge that.
I hope she let you go pee before the second part of the scan (I was hoping I’d got to reply before you got to that part, but I guess I was too late.)
I have both a sister and a friend from the States who are like this.
After Kaikōura eq I was getting desperate urges to seek higher ground. In the meantime, local friends had evacuated to our place, being 7km inland AND higher ground.
Oh Les Catacombes are one of my favourite places. So peaceful and calm, and a true sense of being to an ongoing history and continuation of society.
You're welcome! It's my favourite accessibilty tip - it makes it so easy to make the text in images accessible!
Hi Virginia, if you took that photo with your phone, the chances are that you can scan the text as well to add into the alt text, rather than just writing a summary (which leaves the text in the photo inaccessible to many, including me because I have a small phone screen).
