Bad for school kids, bad for parents, bad for food banks, bad for farmers. This program cost the average taxpayer substantially less than $1 per year. Isn't the easy? Shouldn't we support local farmers' produce going to local food banks and local public schools to feed local kids? What's the issue?

We wear Rebellion & Punisher logos, listen to Greenday, cheer for Star Trek, The Fellowship, Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, & the X-Men.
Aren't some of our actions, and who we're siding with, more like those of the Empire, Saurman & Sauron, the Klingons, Voldemort, The Sith, or The Capitol?
Fellow educators: our students may not understand important terminology, and we shouldn't assume they interpret it uniformly. I put together a handout explaining a key term so I can print copies and leave them around campus, to prompt student reflection and discussion. Feel free to steal and adapt!
A red hat with the word "paralipsis" written on it. (I'm not saying; I'm just saying) Used by dangerous demagogues to avoid accountability by saying two things at once.
And, I know that Trump supporters will say "ha ha, he doesn't mean that. He's not really saying he's a king. He's just trolling libs." Folks, yes. That's the whole point of paralipsis (I'm not saying; I'm just saying). He uses irony to say two things at once, so he always has plausible deniability.
Eggs prices DOUBLED since Trump was elected. Do presidents have direct control over the cost of commodities? No. But I hope everyone that voted this lunatic grifter into power over grocery bills sees they've sold out the country & everything we've built for a broken promise about cheap breakfast.
The revival of Detroit may get stalled over this. It won't help those still struggling in Flint. Add in labor shocks impacting farms & orchards across the state... Then triple whammy if prices rising at the same time bc tariffs hit food supply from Mexico and Canada (half what is eaten in Michigan)
Mexico and Canada tariffs signed. 1 in 5 MI jobs tied to auto manufacturing, an industry extremely sensitive to the market, that has been near collapse several times, and with it state unemployment jumps, MI home values drop, tax revenue drops, public services suffer, impacting the other 4 in 5.
Every farmer & rancher depends on accurate information, short and long term predictions they can adapt to, and policy informed by the reality they will see month after month to supply the food system. They rely on NOAA, USDA, FSA... But hey, owning the libs, right?

Removed. Don't want to be part of the problem. Good catch!
The majority of research funding in the US was just cut off. America First?

Government grant funding that fueled the research making America a tech and innovation powerhouse for the last century? Yeah, say bye to that.
As Trump takes office & pledges mass deportations, here is a shareable film series written *by immigrants for immigrants* on how to safely defend against ICE.
The first of four: 🚨If ICE is outside your door, don’t panic. Don’t open the door. Ask to see a warrant. ICE can’t enter w/o one. Part 1:
How do we go from here to what's needed? Do we rely on people within the party to take over leadership and remake approaches to engagement and priority setting? Who is your Dream Team?
We work tirelessly, day after day, to expose students to difference, perspective, otherness, and the broader world.
I guess that depends on what you want from a city and your approach to the world. I think there is something to love about every city I've visited, and ATL, as a mecca of the New South with a rich history, is not an exception.
RE: ATL mean bc angry drivers: a) yes. b) thinking your local drivers worse than others is common, especially if you live in a major metro. c) ATL isn't walkable, has no functional mass transit, & major roads are all routed through downtown, & 285 75/85 20 all get locked down. It is worthy of anger.
Day one. It was a Promise.
My best hope is that some enrenched resistance and journalism, paired with infighting between camps in power, will stall the worst of it to give us time to take the Senate in 26. ('Never much of a real hope... just a fool's hope.')
Open to any other hope you've found!
There more money in hospitals than in fences, and there's always more coming to replace those that fall and can't be fixed.
Audio books can help. Libby is a free no-ads app that links your local library card to a database and you can check out e-books and audio books for two week blocks. I use it all the time and my wife used it to crosd the 75 book mark last year!
Anyone else got enough green to step in and nab this? A great buy, 'gently used,' all proceeds to go to the debts of the original owner.
I wonder what these guys are going to focus on = protecting billionaires or lowering the cost of eggs.
There surely can't be anything wrong with your product when you [checks notes] tell your workers to stay home because there's no demand to make more of them.

Even if he WAS the first, which he isn't, I'd be concerned about precedent. BUT it's not like it would make a difference to the current version of the Orange party whether Dems had done it first. Looking to precedent, tradition, or rules isn't as fun as 'break it and see if anyone tries to stop me'
That's... good? news. Also, I get to not change anything in my own life, so double good?
At some point I'll have to face my sunk cost fallacy head on and admit Firefox is what it is, isn't getting better, and it's time to move all my bookmarks over to Chrome. Today is not that day, but it comes soon.
Also, vocally supported and given permission structures by religious groups that argue *they* are a persecuted minority (while being in the majority)
