Glad to know that, after all these years, I was not the Sinkhole for Reiterating the already-lethal to me Earthquake to bring the surviving players to a low life total (I'm still in the game, I'm still allowed to take game actions to penalize you for killing me).

Once we check state-based actions once the Critique is done resolving, the game sees your opponent is at 0 life, but it also sees that you tried to draw from an empty library. You both lose the game at the same time and the game is a draw.
A: The game is a draw. You deal 1 damage to your opponent, reducing them to 0 life. However, we're not done resolving the Critique - you still need to draw two cards and discard a card. Unfortunately for you, you only have one card left in your library.
Day 280 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:
Q: My opponent is at 1 life, and I only have 1 card left in my library. If I cast Traumatic Critique targeting my opponent with X=1, do I win the game? #mtg
People want the Nephilim to be legendary.
We do have a better Tendrils at least:
Target the opponent's creature, Stifle the upkeep trigger to prevent it from returning.
If your team was at 20 life, then each player on your team loses 10 life, bringing you to 0 life, and you'll lose the game once Pox Plague is done resolving. If you were at 19 life, then each player on your team loses 9 life, so your team loses a total of 18 life and your team survives at 1 life.
A: Any team at an even life total will go to 0 life. Any team at an odd life total will go to 1 life.
Pox Plague causes each player to lose half of their life, rounded down. There are two players on each team, so Pox Plague causes each player on the team to lose half of their team's life total.
Day 279 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:
Q: I'm in a game of Two-Headed Giant, and one of the players on the opposing team just cast Pox Plague. What happens? #mtg
A: No you cannot. You're dealing 1 damage to one or two target. You're not dividing 2 damage among one or two targets (see Chandra's Pyrohelix, for an example of that wording). If you only choose one target for the Charm, that target will be dealt 1 damage, not 2 damage.
Day 278 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:
Q: If I cast Prismari Charm with the second mode chosen, can I deal 2 damage to one target? #mtg
Some day, they will make an AI that can properly count the number of times a letter appears in a word, and it'll be all over.
He opened a dragon for you and a dragon for him. How nice of him.
Since this isn't targeting the creature in play, your Master of Ceremonies having shroud won't matter - they can still choose your Master and Deadpool will exchange his text box with the Master's text box.
A: Unfortunately for you, they are correct. Deadpool's first ability does not target - you can tell because it does not use the word "target". As part of Deadpool entering the battlefield, you apply his replacement effect and he can exchange his text box with a creature on the battlefield.
Day 277 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:
Q: I have a Master of Ceremonies in play, equipped with my Lightning Greaves to give it shroud. My opponent casts Deadpool, Trading Card and claims it can exchange text boxes with my Master of Ceremonies. Are they right? #mtg
A: Yes they will. An indestructible creature can't be destroyed, so the first part of the effect won't do anything. But the second part of the effect doesn't cares if the creature was destroyed or not. If the creature survives destruction, its controller still gets to search for a land.
Day 276 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:
Q: If I cast Erode targeting an indestructible creature, will that player still get to search for a basic land card? #mtg
You should invite them.
A picture of the book STRIXHAVEN: OMENS OF CHAOS by Seanan McGuire with the text NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER printed above it on a purple and gold background.
I forgot how much I would run over people in the original with cheap, evasive threats + cheap tricks (I loved turn 1 Unwilling Ingredient/turn 2 Essence Infusion). And because of Repartee, I get rewarded for my tricks too.
Man, I forgot how much I loved Silverquill in the first Strixhaven. Just went 7-0 in Sealed in the MTGA Early Access event with this deck. Thanks to Wizards for giving me access to the event!
701.23b If a player is searching a hidden zone for cards with a stated quality, such as a card with a certain card type or color, that player isn’t required to find some or all of those cards even if they’re present in that zone.
Since you're searching for cards with a certain quality (in this case, basic lands), you can choose to find fewer than four basic land cards if you want to (or have to, if you're running low on basic lands in your library).
A: Yes you can. Most cards that let you search for a number of cards (like recent versions of Gifts Ungiven) say "up to" that many cards, but that's not a requirement - the rules have it covered. It's mostly for player convenience and to reduce confusion that cards say "up to".
Day 275 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:
Q: If I cast Planar Engineering, can I search for fewer than four basic lands? #mtg
Yes. I'm working on my application now.
It's ok.
