Today our Vice Chair @tracygilbertmp.bsky.social led a debate in Parliament on sex trafficking in Scotland.
Tracy revealed she has written to Police Scotland to report websites advertising prostitution for violating Scotland's anti-trafficking law. The max penalty is life. 👇

Important news: Today, the UK Government has tabled an amendment to the Crime & Policing Bill giving it the power to force p*rnography websites to verify everyone in their videos is an adult, gave permission for the video to be published and can later withdraw their consent. 1/3

The APPG has long called for this change to combat abuse and exploitation rampant on these sites 🧵
The result in Gorton and Denton is very disappointing. We will reflect, act & continue to learn lessons in the coming days & weeks. Today, I want to thank Angeliki Stogia for her energy & positivity over the campaign, the brilliant Labour staff & thousands of volunteers who worked their socks off.
Don’t look back in anger… on Friday. Only Labour can beat Reform. 👇🏻

When I passed my driving test, I was able to take an intensive week-long course and complete my test within that period.
Now, constituents in Edinburgh North and Leith are waiting months just to secure a test. This is limiting opportunities in work, training and education
Yesterday, I voted to remove the two-child benefit cap, giving 2,000 children in Edinburgh North & Leith a fairer start in life and lifting them out of poverty.
I spoke in a Westminster Hall debate about the petition on indefinite leave to remain, which hundreds of my constituents signed and why we must recognise and value the contribution immigration makes to our country.
2/2 Today, I will vote to strengthen protections for survivors. Ending violence against women and girls must cover all institutions, abuses cannot be forgotten or ignored.
1/2 Royal Artillery Gunner Jaysley Beck took her own life in 2021 after being sexually assaulted by a senior officer.
An inquest found the Army’s handling of her complaint played more than a minimal contributory part in her death.
💫 The Employment Rights Act is now law. This Christmas, let’s celebrate how far we’ve come - and recommit to working together in 2026 for fair pay, stronger unions, and Labour’s New Deal delivered in full.
Senior doorkeeper Paul Kehoe helps keep the magic of Parliament running behind the scenes 🎅✨
Paul has worked in the House of Commons since he was 19 years old, for more than 46 years
It was an absolute joy to interview him about his lifetime of service
3/3 Workers’ rights must come first, especially when companies benefit from tax support.
2/3 Alongside fellow Edinburgh MPs, I’ve met with the company and will continue to support affected workers.
Given reports that Rockstar has received over £70 million in Video Games Tax Relief, I asked whether these dismissals should be raised with the Chancellor.
1/3 I raised concerns in the House of Commons today after being contacted by constituents who say they were dismissed by Rockstar Games for exercising their right to organise at work.
2/2 I tabled an EDM in Parliament to support her call for action and the rollout of life-saving bleed kits. I will continue to monitor this closely and work alongside victims and families to push for change. We must do more to keep our communities safe.
1/2 Last week I met Lisa, who tragically lost her son to knife crime in September. Her strength in campaigning for change is truly inspiring.
Today Tracy Gilbert MP will petition Parliament on pornography and violence against women.
Today our Vice Chair @tracygilbertmp.bsky.social will petition Parliament to tackle violence against women by:
➡️ forcing p*rnography websites to verify age & consent of everyone on their platform & give performers right to withdraw consent
➡️ extend offline safeguards to online platforms
The Labour Government has scrapped the Two Child Limit — ending the cruel rape clause that forced survivors to disclose trauma. As we mark #16Days of Activism, this is Labour delivering dignity, equality & justice at the heart of our policy.
I am so pleased that the UK Government have implemented their 2024 manifesto plan of scrapping the two-child benefit cap. This will support over 1,400 children in my constituency of Edinburgh North and Leith, and I know my constituents will warmly welcome this.
Good employers have nothing to fear when it comes to this Labour government's Employment Rights Bill.
Pimping websites are used by sex traffickers to advertise victims
@ofcom.bsky.social guidance for these sites on implementing the Online Safety Act is totally inadequate and deeply harmful
Our Chair @tonia-antoniazzi.bsky.social has written to CEO Dame Melanie Dawes requesting urgent changes 1/2

1/2 My Absent Voting Bill has now received Royal Assent and become law, the first Private Member’s Bill of this Parliament! It means it can be used in the Scottish and Welsh elections next year, which feels like a such an achievement.
UK Feminista was proud to support a discussion in Parliament last wk with Mia de Faoite - survivor, campaigner & Training Lead at Ruhama.
Mia powerfully argued how and why the Government should recognise that sexual consent cannot be purchased.
Thanks to @tracygilbertmp.bsky.social for hosting.
"A powerful depiction of the life of Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson, this emotionally honest and witty film will restore your faith in humanity"

2/2 With cross-party support, this Bill will simplify the process for applying for postal or proxy votes in next year’s Scottish and Welsh Parliament elections, allowing voters to apply online.
This is a step forward in making democracy more accessible to everyone.
1/2 I’m delighted that my Private Member’s Bill is the first of this Parliament to pass both Houses!
