We remember Columbine.

We honor those we lost, and stand with the families and survivors who continue to carry this grief. Their lives and stories will never be forgotten.

On the 27th anniversary of Columbine, we remember the lives stolen and the families forever changed. We have mourned too many times. We have said “never again” too many times. And still gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in America. That truth should shake us. But here’s another truth: Because of relentless advocacy - parents, students, survivors, organizers - states across this country have passed laws that are saving lives. Progress is possible. Just not enough. Not yet. Our children still walk into classrooms practicing for the unthinkable. That is not normal. That is not acceptable. So we remember, but we also recommit. To action. To courage. To refusing to give up. Because change doesn’t come from despair. It comes from people who keep standing - together - until lives are protected and this nation lives up to its promise.

This war is so damn confusing. It’s why we shouldn’t let drunks and dementia patients run it.

ICE And The Absence Of Accountability Earlier this month, at the notorious state-run immigration detention facility in Florida dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” by state officials, there was another incident.

In Maine, ICE brazenly called their operation “catch of the day.” The banal inhumanity of it all is overwhelming. The deaths, the injuries, the conditions in detention, the brazen disregard for people’s rights, including American citizens. And it’s still happening.

Congrats on “opening” a strait that was open six weeks ago, and all it cost was at least 13 dead service members, thousands of dead Iranian civilians, tens of billions in taxpayer dollars, our loss in global standing, and the Iranian regime’s increase in power. Phenomenal work.
