🎤 Calling Multi-Echo fMRI Researchers 🎤

Preparing for OHBM? Get expert feedback before the deadline! 🌟

Tedana devs will possibly host a multi-echo meeting on Dec 8th to make sure your abstract is perfect for submission.

Interested? DM me or other tedana devs!

We are still seeing issues as of right now.

Humbled and grateful to be named runner‑up for the Neuro — Irv and Helga Cooper Foundation Open Science Prizes 2025 🙏

Big congratulations to the laureates — your work is inspiring! Thank you to the Tanenbaum Open Science Institute and The Neuro for supporting open science.

That feeling when you make your model super efficient it can not only fit much bigger that, but runs faster at the same time! 😎

Don’t miss it if you’re into multi echo fMRI!

My heart is not ready for a crazy game like that one 😅

Breath hold fMRI is great for measuring CVR... *except when your participant or patient doesn't quite perform the task the way you'd like. Let's see if we can fix that! (Spoiler, it looks like we can, using the respiratory belt data to predict or fill in missing PETCO2 data!)

And complain less (I hope)

True, but you would still need a ground truth to learn from, right?

I’m more than happy to discuss ideas in this topic.

Research would become boring if we could do that 😜

11 months ago 1 0 0 0

Yes, I meant we don’t really know the ground truth…

Plus, the HRF differs across different regions of the brain and possibly across the population.

A very interesting but hard problem to solve!

With our algorithms we always saw that assuming the shape was good enough for most cases 🤷‍♂️

How would you learn the HRF from the data when the ground truth doesn’t exist?

Even if you were to transfer learn from task fMRI data, the model would be quite biased when applied to rest…

The single echo is also available in AFNI as 3dPFM.

I would suggest using pySPFM with stability selection for better results though.

Whole-brain multivariate hemodynamic deconvolution for functional MRI with stability selection Conventionally, analysis of functional MRI (fMRI) data relies on available information about the experimental paradigm to establish hypothesized model…

We showed that with our multi-echo multivariate paradigm free mapping approach we could get fairly close to GLM activity maps in task fMRI data. Stability selection (not multi-echo dependent) really helped us get robust results.

I did something similar to see my post stars a couple of months ago.

Such a fun application!

They may have US funding but it is a nordic company and afaik very few in the team work from the US…
