There are many factors to consider besides cooling such as cost of electricity and closeness too a high population density area (network latency, Internet backbone costs etc)

Therefore it’s sometimes „better“ to invest in cooling over relocating the center.

Your code is worthless Why "Vibe Coding" and vanity metrics are creating a technical debt bubble.

Latest release v0.3.0 primarily focuses on README, and release packaging. So it’s easy to get started as running npm install and setting up your Joplin Token!

Including it into Gemini CLI or other tools is as easy as adding one line to the prompt:

Search my Joplin Notes for Birthday presents. Use the command line tool "joplin-cli" to access my Joplin Notes.

joplin-cli 0.3.0 is out!

It’s a lightweight „no MCP server needed“ way to give AI agents access to you Joplin Notes (or just to access them from the CLI yourself)

We keep calling LLMs "AI coding assistants." But writing code and understanding code are not the same thing.

Researchers just ran 750,000 debugging experiments across 10 models to determine how well LLMs actually understand code.

I use it for

- search/get/update all you Notes and Notebooks from your favorite terminal
- connect to LLMs (as a much leaner alternative to all MCP Servers I’ve found so far)

And potentially other script automations (e.g. I keep READMEs for how I set up all my RPIs at home in Joplin)

I’ve started a #joplin CLI app.

Compared to the Joplin Terminal App (which is a full blown Joplin with a TUI) I’ve created it as a thin wrapper using the Web Clipper API.

It’s still rough around the edges but if you want to take a look! 👀

Thank you! It’s a a 1960/61 family heirloom which was recently rediscovered. We suspect it hasn’t been running since the 80ies, so I need to get it serviced before I can wear it regularly. But I’m excited to bring it back to live!

Two men’s watches on watch pillows.

Left one is a Junghans Automatic dress watch on a black leather strap. The Junghans is approximately 34mm in diameter. With a slim golden frame. And approximately 8mm high.

The right watch is a Tissot PRC200 chronograph with a black leather strap. The Tissot has a diameter of approximately 400mm and is approximately 13mm high. It has a an approximate 3mm thick silver frame.

Love it! A men’s dress watch is supposed to be smaller so it fits underneath shirts and suits, even today new dress watches follow this „rule“. My vintage Junghans dress watch is also much smaller compared to my Tissot Chronograph.

Very few narratives piss me off as much as the whole "let's give marginalised people LLM assistants for inclusion".

Inclusion does not mean giving marginalised people shittier versions of a thing: Sure you can give kids from poorer backgrounds an LLM to "learn" but what you are saying is that poor people are not worth having trustworthy sources of information. When you say that older or lonely people can talk to chatbots to feel less alone you are saying that some people are not worth a social life.

This is a deeply inhumane perspective that goes actively against the ideas and ideals of inclusion.

What’s the best way to debug Workflows with Google Gemini?

I spent the afternoon trying to get Gemini to compare a PDF and CSV File. It took me hours until I learned it was because it failed to parse the PDF, and only after countless times of “show me your work” prompting…

Is there a better way?

Id argue for an AP Royal Oak. Yes the dial is round, but the frame gives it a very distinct octagonal look!

Amusing use of LLMs at a more traditional company:

“A project with ~50 people got stuck. There are too many JIRA tickets, no clear specification, and anytime one team tries to make progress, the others shoot it down.

So a dev built an LLM to try and break the deadlock: (cont’d)

Sorry for the string of videos, but this is amazing and makes me wonder if this is what life could be like if we all just logged off the internet.
