A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!

Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....

Can we please stop calling it "The Central Dogma"? What an odd term that was in the first place... And why are we still using it in the 21st century...?

Development of PROTACs for targeted degradation of oncogenic TRK fusions Chromosomal translocations leading to the fusion of tropomyosin receptor kinases (TRKs) with diverse partner proteins have been identified as oncogenic drivers in many adult and pediatric cancers. Whi...

Proud to share our latest paper in @rscchembio.rsc.org, where we tackle oncogenic TRK fusions. Together, @sauravk05.bsky.social and Jiewei Jiang develop potent and selective degraders of the TPM3-TRKA fusion, a key cancer driver. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...

Very proud of Samantha "S" Fallacaro the first student from our lab to defend their thesis! Check out her latest work (tinyurl.com/42hdfssz) where she shows that "hubs" formed by the transcription factor Dorsal are emergent features of binding kinetics, not higher-order regulatory assemblies.

Immune evasive DNA donors and recombinases license kilobase-scale writing - Nature INSTALL overcomes fundamental challenges for DNA delivery and integration methods by synergizing immune-stealth nucleic acids with recombinases to enable kilobase-scale integration strategies without ...

Today in @nature.com we introduce INSTALL, which bypasses mammalian DNA immune sensing to enable non-viral DNA integration with recombinasesβ€”a step toward safe, and mutation-agnostic genome editing. 🧬 🧡 (1/13)

In this time of introspection
On the eve of study section
I say to my reflection
God, please spare me more rejection
My reviewers criticize me
And my colleagues all despise me
Try to put it all behind me
But that funding cliff is nipping at my heels

@mukherja.bsky.social work on RNAPII clusters is in print today: www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Congrats!
TLDR: RNAPII clusters represent transcriptonally engaged molecules at single genes, not super-stochiometric assemblies.
Please check it out and see the the thread below for a summary.

Some molecular machines, like ribosomes, can persist for long periods of time in cells.

Could molecular aging of ribosomes shape how proteins are made?

In our new preprint we track ribosomes as they age in cells and uncover unexpected effects on translation (1/10)
