and lastly, not sure how much process lasso helped, I removed "always" core affinity from OBS and Dead Space so that it isn't using core 0 (most applications run only core 0 default) I presume means when core 0 is saturated, that apps not using core 0 aren't waiting for other core 0 processes
used a PNG model instead of vtube sudio, used NVENC encoding which runs on the GPU instead of CPU, DLSS on (I heard FSR was pretty good too, if you're on AMD GPU I think BAR is an option? )
Some suggestions from friends and some other things, not sure if I remember everything, but the game was pretty CPU bound for me so anything that removes CPU load I felt like was the major thing, posts can't be too long so I'll respond to my own post below

what do you mean fixed? the high cpu usage was always an issue since release, but the rest of the reviews for the remake overall was favourable hasn't changed between old and new reviews, and I'm not sure where you got "brighter" from as the remake is a lot darker than the original
are you sure? most people say the remake is better, are you maybe not thinking of dead space 3 or some other game?
performance is the main gripe, most people seem to agree the atmosphere, polish, mechanics are better in the remake, which is why I'm playing the remake despite owning both
good news is got it down from 15-20% dropped frames to 2-5%
bad news is had to do a lot more testing to make sure and ended up getting like an hour into the story 😅
good game, im excited
