If flight is cancelled, I'm driving to Vermont and Montreal in late October to watch the insanity from there...Camino research kills anxiety. Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.
Yeah I'm talking to the void lol sigh...

At the moment it's looking like 4 days of the Lana in Alicante to warm up, then Camino Manchego (Ciudad Real-Toledo), then the Levante (Toledo-Zamora)...then post Camino Asturias, Euskadi and Soria. 3/4
Either a detour from the Levante (train from Ávila to Cercedilla) or the Camino Complutense from Alcalá de Henares to Segovia through the Sierra de Guadarrama...) Alas high hotel prices and potential snow/cold in the sierra have me questioning this. 2/
So hotel prices being exorbitant (for Spain) may eliminate a couple of Camino ideas I had...I'm trying to honour 2018's me vow of never setting foot in Madrid again, so I was looking at how to pick up el Camino de Madrid without starting in the city...1/
Was debating watching Once Upon a Time, but...meh. Then I was debating just watching myPam's episodes as Malificent (Kristen Bauer von Straten)...so skipped ahead to the S1 finale (she's in 1x02 and 1x22)...uhhh, this is not my type of show at all...
L'amour et les forêts (Just the Two of Us), this week's Wednesday Foreign Flick is a 2023 French "thriller" about a French woman who marries an abusive douche. It was the definition of whatever mid is in French.
I think the white crown sparrow frequenting the feeders knows it’s the Bird of the Day on the Merlin app as it came out from under the tree to the “patio”, made sure I saw it, then back to hiding under the tree.
A hidden blue jay in a tree
A heron near a bench next to a small lake
Blue jay and great blue heron (yes a rare picture of the actual Homer Lake!)
A male mallard duck swimming in a river
A white tailed deer (in front of a tree) looking right at the camera
A big tree in front of a pond on a sunny spring day
A male northern cardinal (bright red) singing loudly about how camouflaged he is and how no one will find him in green grass singing loudly
Two local forest preserves in two days! At Homer Lake I heard way more than I saw, and I saw most after the hike near the parking lot. Lots of deer though! May upload heron and blue jay later.
If you ever manage to sneak video or pics of this…
Feeling a bit better after feeling pretty meh most of the day...really got to get into a dentist but...such a long story. So just going to daydream about Caminos. Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.
FYI, on Mastodon this was one post...not enough characters on Bluesky :-/
We watched 28 Days Later: The Bone Temple, which was pretty good (DVD hold came in at the library!)...looking forward to the third one.
It most definitely was 🫂
The Best Little Motel in Texas by Lyla Lane. Cute premise (woman inherits a brothel in a small Texan town) with horrible execution.
The Glass House by Anne Buist & Graeme Simsion: Good read about a new Australia trauma therapist thrown into a trauma centre, part of a trilogy.
Recent reads I haven't posted about.
All Quiet on the Western Front--watched part of the film in my high school World History class (never saw the whole thing), so glad to finally read the excellent book.
The Great Train Robbery (Crichton) and Shutter Island (Lehane): Hope the movies are better.
UPDATE: Checked does the dog die and will not be watching Smallville.
Since The Vampire Diaries failed their audition to become my next show, going to audition Smallville next. Skipping a workout today though because I feel meh. Also need to update the books I've been reading.
One of my life regrets will be not getting into birds until my 40’s.
I don’t have the spoons to get this to under a character count and to reupload pics so here it is on Mastodon sorry
lgbtqia.space/@setmeravell...
Quiet at Heron View. Peak for blue bells was my last visit (maybe the freeze?). Birds were hiding, although I did see a blue jay (my fave) and two Canada geese. Potential eagle but unconfirmed (flying different from vultures but bigger than a hawk) which might explain the bird silence.
Aw, Archer S12's finale had me tearing up. One of the best episodes for many reasons.
(Definitely think he's autistic as some theories say!)
Didn't get much accomplished today, feeling like a waste as usual...maybe tomorrow will be better.
Auditioning The Vampire Diaries for my next workout and late afternoon show...I watched the pilot as it aired and was bored...rewatched that and am being bored by episode 2 now. Stick with it or nah?
This is the year Dolly and Mariah collab on Hard Candy Christmas.
She is the only good country artist (well also Orville Peck) to emerge this millennium! And country won’t actually play either one.
I love her first two albums but didn’t like her Rainbow era. Dolly also has a rainbow album lol.
Whoa I was just wondering if you liked her when I heard this…it has nothing to do with Mariah (other than women singer songwriters)
I've decided that I am not following any primarily photography accounts that don't do alt-text, and I'm going to try to do my best not to hit the heart on any pics without it. (This isn't people who usually do and forget).
On Mastodon, I follow a blind person and have learnt so much from them.
So now #GH is doing bi-erasure in the year 2026? Really?
She isn’t a fave per se, but that’s one of my faves from her…
Today is another major struggle day. Sorry.
