I recently upgraded a few of my machines to NVMe, (2 and 4TB), and still cannot get over the size (small) capacity (larger than I could even conceive even 20 years ago) and cost (low per TB).

I don’t know if it’s possible to quantify how much global influence and power this administration has willfully squandered in the past four weeks. It is a national security disaster.

I am a rust dev on a yocto (mainly) C/C++ project, and constantly have to deal with this particular pushback, which is.. annoying. It's not exactly apples->apples IMHO, you "get stuff" for the "overhead" - async runtime baked in for instance.
