if you look at more recent nintendo releases with character customization the gender option is gone and you can pick anything
i wholeheartedly believe this is the direction they will take and i think it's a much better solution, especially for people who don't align with any gender

i think tomodachi life living the dream will have same-sex relationships, but not in the way most people think
i believe mii genders will be removed entirely, instead of just letting miis of the same gender be in relationships
