HEAD QUARTERS MORRIS TOWN 12TH MARCH 1777

Sir

You are hereby required immediately to send me an exact return of your regiment, and to send all your recruits, who have had the small pox to join the Army. Those, who have not, are to be sent to Philadelphia, and put under the direction of the commanding officer there, who will have them inoculated. You are to leave a sufficient number of proper officers to carry on the recruiting service, who are to bring up their men as soon as they are ready. No pleas, of delay, on account of the dispersion of the officers can be admitted, as every commanding officer ought to know where his inferior officers are, and they what recruits they have, and where they are to be found.

You are to remain at Philadelphia, to procure arms clothing &c., and send on, your Major to Camp, to receive your detachments. Your Lieut. Colonel is also to come on, as soon as circumstances will permit.

I am Sir

Your most humble servant

Go: Washington

George Washington wrote this letter to Lt. Colonel David Grier on March 12, 1777. In it, Washington instructs Grier to send new soldiers to Philadelphia so they could be inoculated for smallpox. Washington wanted to make sure that his troops were not affected by disease, and he believed that inoculation would help with that. So, just before this letter was written, Washington created a mandated system of inoculating his soldiers.

Not to mention, you get shots all the time in the military beyond the flu shot! Like I cannot begin to tell you how many vaccines i’ve had for Japanese Encephalitis!
Hegseth is a right-wing chud and the flu vaccine got wrapped up in the culture war, hence not requiring it.

Yeah I gotcha! (Besides the point, but i’ve listened to some putin interviews- he absolutely sucks lol endless rambling nonsense and grievance, which explains why MAGA loves him)

Beyond all that, Ukrainian history is fascinating! From the Kievan Rus period, which includes the Christianization of the Rus to the apocalyptic Mongol Horde era, through the Hetmanite, to Nestor Mahkno and the Ukrainian anarchists, through the Holodomor and the Soviet period. It’s a lot!

Alright- in good-faith, I think the big problem was leading the convo with phraseology that is word for word from putin’s mouth. So anyone who supports Ukraine, myself included, are pretty sensitive to that. If it was an honest mistake, which it seems like it is- you’re good.

A screenshot of a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Magyar Péter (Ne féljetek), with the handle @magyarpeterMP. The post reads:
"Until 31 May, the Orbán puppets may voluntarily step down from their positions. This applies to the President of Hungary, the President of the Curia, the President of the National Office for the Judiciary, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the Prosecutor General.
On 12 April, the Hungarian people voted for a complete political transformation.
If these officials do not step down voluntarily by 31 May, then — on the basis of the mandate received from millions of Hungarians — we will remove them from office."
At the bottom, the timestamp reads "3:04 AM • Apr 21, 2026" alongside "19.9K Views".

Peter Magyar is not playing around at all. He's going to purge every single remnant of corrupt Orbanism. This is exactly how Dems need to be when they retake power.

Agreed!
I am *very* tired of this condescending narrative about how men are just little babies who have to be told they’re good boys or they’ll become chuds.
No.
Men have agency in their lives, they do not need to be culturally swaddled.
You know what a lot of men need? To fucking grow up

Opinion | Measles Took My Daughter. This Is What I Want Everyone to Know.

Measles is NOT "just like chickenpox". It can kill years later. This woman was so brave for coming forward with her story.

Vote Blue No Matter Who: Party Politics As Political Agency Politics is a collective enterprise aimed at controlling the state, and requires working together as co-partisans.

"In America today we have a party of ordinary governance and a personality cult party. Those are the two options we are now offered every general election, and it really is that simple." www.liberalcurrents.com/vote-blue-no...

Not only are they wrong about Ukraine on the merits, but it’s a strange logic. “If your nation-state hasn’t reached a threshold of age, then your country should be bombed out by its chauvinistic neighbor.”

Just another small piece of the great speedrunning civilizational collapse perpetrated by the trump goons

20 hours ago 1 0 0 0

Damn, well if nothing else, i’m glad trump doesn’t have the will to try that

You’d say? I guess to me I mean the US could occupy Iran, actually establishing a functioning regime after that? No. So I’d say I totally agree with you there

Trump just lacks the political will or political capital to go for a real invasion.

1 day ago 1 0 1 0

Yeah I think that they’re making a big misread. The problem isn’t that the US military is tactically losing, the problem is the lack of strategy, which falls on trump and his goons. If trump wanted to “win” (let’s just say actual regime change for ex) a large ground invasion would succeed.

Truuuuuue. Your take was my take. Protect others and yourself until the third round of vaccines. But in the meantime, as an extrovert, it was absolutely god awful. One of the worst periods of my life easily

Man kills 8 children and shoots his wife and another woman in Shreveport, Louisiana Officials and relatives say a man killed eight children, including seven of his own, and shot two women in two homes in Shreveport, Louisiana.

AGAIN, the most dangerous time for women is when it's over with men. Men who are led by emotion and violence. Transcends race. We have a violent man problem.

"Elkins and his wife were in the process of separating and had been due in court Monday"

100% agree. I also think SpaceX should be considered for nationalization. Actually doing amazing and important things, but shouldn’t be controlled by a narcissistic nazi- probably best to just be in the public’s hands.

Ossoff is excellent here. Expose the corruption, name it, and prepare to vigorously root it out.

This monstrosity must either be torn down or turned into a monument to the end of fascism. One or the other, preferably just torn down.

I am sympathetic to Texas Dems, you guys have been through hell and are close to breaking through. But I will just say that “big city in a red state” syndrome is real. Like the people around you may agree with you, but you’re on an island. It’s also true in blue states, our cities are just bigger.

Right, man- you may want to overthrow the bourgeoise democracy or whatever you call it. I’m a loser reformist, so revolution won’t work for me. I am going to mute you, so convo is done. But good luck with the revolution.
