been a while but I remember baking the direct light + bounce light and even with dynamic shadows off my character was shadowed under trees and stuff. it cascades and it'd do dynamic shadows for non-static and static objects although that was a new feature at the time. I will have to look into this

I will be honest I have no idea what direct lighting in sh probes means. are you saying you don't have a lightmap texture? i can't ask the question very well as i have no idea how harmonics are generated nor used

this is the first I'm hearing about your engine cause my feed is so clogged, but I am almost positive godot's lightmap baker has a spherical harmonics option, if that's what that means. you should really consider hacking at godot and ripping out anything that doesn't completely meet your needs

may as well just roll your own at that point
