We are thrilled to announce we've endorsed by the Saint Paul Federation of Educators Local 28 (@spfelocal28.bsky.social)! Our educators are essential to making our city run, and they know first-hand the importance of families having safe, quality housing.

Man, when you compare the bravery of every day Minnesotans to the overpaid cops it’s astounding

Sex in commercial buildings⁉️ It makes spicy headlines, but the truth is that bathhouses have a long history as safe spaces in the LGBTQIA+ community. Let’s repeal the bathhouse ban and make Minneapolis a city where our queer communities thrive. Thank you @jchavezmpls.bsky.social for leading this!

Roper: Hunger strikers say the government is wrong about incinerator’s risks. I don’t buy it. Let’s boost recycling rates before closing the garbage burner near downtown Minneapolis.

Eric Roper was wrong about the city's pedestrian and bike coordinator position (he railed against it at the time), wrong about criminalizing syringe possession, and wrong about HERC.

Don't buy this happy horseshit that we're going to recycle our way out of blowing toxins into poor neighborhoods.

Hey putting the $40 million MPD gun range just 400 feet from yours kid’s elementary is the only thing we could come up with for that money.

Remarkable moment unfolding in front of me at the DFL city convention. Ward 11 Council Member Jamison Whiting notices a guy reading an attack flyer targeting Jamison Whiting.

In January, MPD internal records show that show Priority 1 domestic abuse calls (categorized as Dabuse) in Minneapolis waited 30–88 minutes for a response.

Priority 1 means immediate threat to life or safety—calls that are supposed to receive the fastest possible response.

Subsection C - Substantive Change
The committee proposed that in odd years, delegates are elected to the ward conventions at precinct caucuses, and delegates to the city convention are elected at the ward conventions.
This is a conforming change to remain consistent with the changes in Subsection A.

I hope to see you at the Minneapolis DFL Convention tomorrow.

I could not be more opposed to the proposed changes to stop electing city delegates at caucuses. Electing them at Ward conventions that have dramatically less turnout than caucuses will disincentivize grassroots organizing. 1/

Someone inside city hall — not a politician, not D.A. — made this exact point to me the other day. They noted nobody in Frey’s coalition even remotely has the legislative policy chips of, say, @ward2.minneapolismn.gov. They just outsource everything to the mayor’s office.

I can't believe they snubbed you on the website Eric. You should have at least got "DSA adjacent" because taxes are scary or something.

Yeah that sure doesn't feel like what I experienced at caucus. "Abolishing ICE" is mainstream in MN at this point.

Adult bathhouses were a part of Minneapolis nightlife. Then police and panic pushed them out Forty years after the adult bathhouse ban was passed, the city council is considering reversing it. A myriad of components led to the ban, but for several decades, public sexual spaces in Minneapolis ...

In the 1970s and '80s, Minneapolis had numerous public sexual spaces. In the years to come, they would close until the final bathhouse ended service in 1988, one day before the ban took place. Raids and public fears about the AIDS crisis contributed to the city council unanimously passing a ban.

Josh failing to include the multiple attempts to form Ilhan walking sub-caucuses in CD3. Kelly Morrison better watch out! I see no reason not to give Ilhan a second vote in Congress.

This is the thing — the Strib has covered the mismanagement, but generally their substantive analysis is overhwhelmed by drama criticism & their columnists (both news and editorial page) eschew deeper analysis because they’re more into hippie punching.

Great to see the hard work of a lot of Minneapolis folks pay off and allow endorsements like this from the Senior Caucus.

Indignant Mayor Frey says today has nothing to do with Barnette's job performance. Which I interpret to mean massive budget overruns are not a thing you're allowed to hold against the city's highest paid employee.
