I really, really need academic organizations to think more critically about travel (conferences, talks, and meetings) during the Trump administration. Sadly, most are not.
Fair concern! Though I would hypothesize the opposite about our latitude - the sleep experts seem to gloss over the 4am sunrise (and resulting bird 🐦 noise) that permanent ST would bring in the summer. Also curious about the morning light, SAD, etc risk since it’s usually cloudy in the winter here.
Even the Stanford study authors the province misquoted said that switching back and forth is the worst option for sleep (and heart attacks, car accidents, etc. after the clock change).
Did the province pick the best evidence based option? No. Is it better than what they were doing before? Probably.
