WIP from beginning jewelry. Three pieces of metal that will be riveted together with least one tube rivet. Still haven’t decided on my patina for the back piece.

Switching gears to my first project in my beg. jewelry class. The assignment is to use three pieces of metal to make a layered piece, sawn & riveted, & using patinas. This is my WIP. I still have filing, sanding, patina, & riveting to do. It’s called Cathole. Sketch, photoshop, sawn copper.
I went to my first protest and plan to do many more. You inspired me.
Before using 400 grit sanding pad and after. There are still many steps before these are finished. Happy to have this tool. The one image with three photos to compare include the middle image where I tried to use my stained glass grinder, which caused more damage than good.
Today’s work was adding more layers of enamel to get the green flush with the metal.
I did. I don’t have much time logged with the saw, so the first one too a lot longer. I’m getting better. The jewelers always say, “the saw is your friend.”
Got to do some enameling today. More tomorrow.
One more with pitting will need to be cut out and one I filed and sanded to get rid of pitting.
Drew on the PnP resist with oil Sharpie to fill in pinholes.
I took that pitted etching piece and cut out the leaves to get rid of the bad bits. Next big step will be enameling, but I want to get some other pieces ready to maximize the heated kiln.
Electro etched the one in the left. Had some resist failure, so think I might cut out the leaves with a narrow border. The other two still need to be etched. New learning.
Not really an edit, an erasure.
No way to edit in Bluesky
So, not sure how to edit posts. Will google tomorrow.
I do it, because people don’t always see it the first time.
New learning: jewelry making skills. Electro-etched copper. The resist was PnP. I sawed it with a jeweler’s saw. First time for all these processes. Clip art. jewelrymaking #etching #electroetching
Thank you 🙏
