Every single day since the golden escalator, often multiple times a day. More amazingly, each day has been worse than the one before, even as there's no conceivable way he could possibly get worse. Astounding really.

Thanks, I just found out who created the "That's a nasty bug you've got there" meme. Followed!
I definitely learned. This was the spark that moved me -- in 2009 after 36 years as a registered Republican -- to becoming a Democratic Socialist.
The insight I had 40+ years ago in business school is that the stock market isn't just a casino (it absolutely is), but that the wise guys make money whether it goes up or down. This is what enables them to prop up Trump because they're doing great with all the bouncing up and down he's creating.
I always remember the Secret Service deleting all the J6 texts. I truly think that might have been the one to bring him down for good, and to clear out his internal collaborators.
That would be a great outcome but I think what he's really building is a place he can hunker down and stay in after he gets thrown out again. He never has any intention of leaving -- he said last time that he made a mistake in leaving the White House. This is the whole plan.
I'll grant that Trump is the natural outcome of movement conservatism, but it's still a minority of Americans. Like Hungary, the opposition is awakened. Still a lot of short term danger but I'm more hopeful than at any recent time.
The source of all of this:
What a set of pipes.

This is Trump's genuinely amazing superpower. No matter how awful he is today, tomorrow he'll deliver new levels of awful. And it's been this way since he came down the escalator.
This is true at every level. Check out the local people working for little or no pay. There are exceptions but a lot of these folks are in it for self-aggrandizement and/or to settle scores from high school. It's a flaw of democracy that gets exploited up and down the ballot.
Sherman tore open a brand new kibble bag again, even though he's got kibble in his feeder any time he wants it. What the little bastard will lose for a day or two is the gooshy food he gets 2x a day, which he loves. He understands this but is still unapologetic. #cats
The elephant in the room is that we sent an entire generation off to fight brown people, worship the flag, fetishize lethal weaponry, and require massive war machines. No one can be surprised when they brought these values home.
They know that. You are NOT their intended m̶a̶r̶k̶ audience.

It's Chekhov's Gun... If there's a rifle on the wall in the first act, it must be fired before the play is over.
Every bomb and weapon that is manufactured needs to be used so it can be replaced. The weaponry industry must be constantly fed.
The sheer distances involved is why it's reasonable to believe that aliens simply haven't reached Earth during human existence. That's more reasonable than thinking they have, yet remain undetected. (Or traveled all this way and crash landed 😂).
Inspiring photo but the Webb telescope is four times farther away from Earth and is revealing details at the Milky Way's center. Two different US achievements to be proud of at a difficult time.

A hundred Ramones songs.
The fundamental problem is that the world now knows the US can make a Trump-like decision again (we did it twice), so future leaders will be severely limited in what they can accomplish. No US promise can ever be trusted if in a few years a crazy person can come in and say all deals are off.
"religious people" -- there's your error.
Still this one for me -- ~25 years now. Sounds like a ringtone cadence and always made people smile during in-person meetings (remember them?) But as a retiree I now get very few calls TBH.

Tech companies are laying off everyone because they no longer need to innovate. Their market dominance means they can just keep selling the same stuff without all of the people who helped build the companies. Just taking the profits like any good capitalists.

To admit that they were so wrong about so much for so long would incur unsurvivable psychic injury.

AI is just a pretext for shedding workers. A huge proportion of tech, and many other industries, has achieved post-competition status and can keep selling the same old stuff without fear of share loss. No longer needing the people who built their companies, they simply fire them and take profits.
This has been obvious since (before) the beginning. For the Strait of Hormuz to work, a whole lot of things must operate correctly. But that complex system can be broken with ease if someone nearby decides they want to -- especially if the clear alternative is, you know, annihilation.
