why didn't we bid on it when it was for sale? or did we and we just got outbid? or has there been little appetite for this idea in the past before we had a really good concrete example of what happens when we don't?

idk september?
i am going to go opening day and i am going to wear a witch costume. finally something for 38 year old women who call their bullet journals grimoires right. thank god
yeah honestly i regard this as sort of like the city making a deal with a mobster. i don't want to have any dealings with organized crime thank you
around june i get totally distracted by the vegetable garden and stop paying attention to the flower beds and don't do my chelsea chop and don't water or deadhead or weed and then in august i go out there and i'm like goddamn we're all looking for the guy who did this
i love my garden :) this is the time of year it looks the nicest too. i like little pretty pale pink and blue spring flowers and how dense and green everything is. i don't like the more garish tropical flowers later or having to water
just saw the trailer for the new practical magic and can i just say i am levitating out of my seat excited to see that. i ADORE that movie i've probably seen it 700 times
spring rain is a bummer in terms of playing outside but damn does it make for excellent bird-looking-at in the garden. they're going bananas out there
brian- thank you,
huh i just don't really think our city should be even financially interacting with a system that blatantly scummy
is the hooliganism an integral part of that or do you think we could skip that here
i feel like it would be a lot more fun for everyone if the teams represented the cities? and it would give municipalities a really strong incentive to fund great kids sports facilities- we have to raise our OWN stars, we can't just import them
we'll always have sports, sports aren't going away because some jerk throws a tantrum. maybe we won't have those exact players in that exact space with that exact logo but dudes are going to be playing basketball in portland oregon
like he really seems like a mega creep. he's not even just a normal rich guy, he's like, extra slimy, even for a rich guy. the dude plainly sucks. he doesn't like or understand our city so his problems shouldn't be the city's problems. cut him loose
it sucks, a lot of my friends really love the blazers and i don't want to make them sad, but i also don't want this creep holding a gun to our heads forever. even if we build him his arena, what's to stop him demanding we renovate it again next year? nothing
hmmm we should make it un-illegal
i have no interest in renovating an expensive arena vanity project of a rich dipshit car dealership guy from texas and his team of random guys from all over the country who can pick up and leave at any time. give the money to leech botanical garden. they're not gonna move the trees to nashville
the portland trailblazers should be majority owned by the city of portland and play in a municipal arena. it should be comprised mainly of people who grew up in portland, and the team should heavily subsidize a bunch of training camps programs etc for local kids to build up future players
and i thought they were kind of for local guys to play on, i didn't realize the players were just interchangeable guys from wherever who got moved around arbitrarily by the rich owners? that's a stupid system
i don't follow sports so it wasn't really clear to me until recently that all these teams are just owned by rich dipshits, i guess i thought the cities themselves at least partially owned them
that guy who bought the blazers is coming off as such a dick i'm starting to think we don't even want the blazers if he's part of the package. he doesn't seem like a guy who has a long and happy relationship with portlanders ahead of him put it that way
Apropos of nothing: Portland Mayor Wilson released his proposed budget at 4:20 pm on 4/20.
lol i just saw it on the oregonian and was like "hmmm i need to see some takes on this" and came straight to your page. i don't know! it sounds bad to me to cut hours at the community center because then less people will use it and it will bring in less fees etc?
well let me know how you like it. i don't have netflix but i can acquire it through unorthodox channels if its good
oh that beardy guy? i like him, but is he much of a gardener...?
If you live in a town with a mid sized concert amphitheater it can be 20-50 years ago all summer long
that's what a video i saw claimed, that they've essentially evolved alongside us and "every spider you've ever put outside has died" but idk they do not seem that fragile to me. i think one could live in a rhododendron just as easily as in my bathtub
maybe your house is less windy and wet. mine doesn't really have that
what a picture!
like there's nothing about the inside of my house that's so different from the forest floor for their purposes. obviously they could survive outside. outside is like the exact same temperature and humidity and cleanliness level as my living room. they'd be fine
