In France there is a wise old badger who lives in a bin under the Palace of Versailles. When humans invent a new thing like an iPad, somebody from the Académie Française taps three times on the bin and Père Blaireau comes out and looks at the new thing and tells them whether iPad is a boy or a girl.

As an EU citizen myself, “we” is also me :-)… and I agree the EU should not accept the UK back until it’s clear there’s overwhelming and *sustainable* support among the UK public. And with Reform leading the polls, that condition is not yet met. But single market / customs union… absolutely, now!

It’s been awesome seeing the photos of earth from the other side of the moon. The furthest taken by a manned spacecraft, but not the furthest that we have ever taken. That would be this one, taken from 6 billion km away by Voyager 1. We are that very tiny pale blue dot. (www.bbc.com/news/science...)

I remember at grad school we had a class on databases which was basically “how to get a job using oracle” - they were pretty explicit that their %employed after graduation number was a key metric and this way guaranteed we’d all at least find some kind of job in IT.
