However, between the LA fires and a personal health crisis, January of 2025 started my own lessons in nimbleness with a bang. Here’s what I’ve learned so far. Don’t get attached to any specific outcomes, good or bad. Moderate your intake of the news and of other people’s reactions to the news (aka, social media). Focus on meeting the moment where it is at: be present with what is more than what you assume will be. Cultivate your discernment. Resource yourself daily, in as many ways as you can.
Text reads: Being Nimble in 2025 and beyond. There will be many lessons about nimbleness to explore in 2025 and beyond. Things aren’t going to be easier for awhile yet, and many challenges lie ahead. But I will be here, learning to be nimble in real time. I hope that you will join me in these explorations, so we can learn how to be nimble together. You’re not alone. We all have work to do, and we can choose to unite and fight together instead of retreating into isolate. I love you. Be Nimble.

Text reads: "Why this? In 2024, the trancestors told me that the theme would be resourcing. You can look back at all the ways I explored that theme, and even access my evergreen workshop on the topic (available rn, sliding scale). This year, I figured we would need resourcing more than ever before. But when I asked the transcestors what the theme for 2025 would be, they told me: Be Nimble."

The good old Oxford dictionary defines “nimble” in the following ways: quick and light in motion: agile marked by quick, alert, clever conception, comprehension, or resourcefulness responsive, sensitive To me, nimbleness means meeting the situation as it comes, being willing (and able) to shift fast, with little warning.
Text reads: Nimbleness and Resourcing. Resourcing, the 2024 theme, is crucial for being nimble. As a skill set, it is the backbone of the work that we all need to do together in 2025. As a reminder, this is how I define resourcing: “At its most basic, resourcing is finding ways to give our whole selves what we need to function well and not be in deficit.” When you’re well resourced, even when nimbleness is not your usual state, you’re much more able to access it when needed.
