Don’t miss out on this one. The first was a huge inspiration for me and the sequel is such a joy to play, intense and complex in the best way.

I saw this game presented in Amsterdam last month and had the chance to chat with the creator a bit. I was intrigued by the concept of sanctuaries not only as places of safety and peace but also where one processes past traumas and oppression.

Me too. Not so much into hacking and slashing usually but the aesthetics of this make me very curious

It’s as if our childhood was a lie. I remember Fable as a masterpiece and Halo with photorealistic graphics 😅

My first solo game is out now!

You are Hell’s newest bookkeeper, overworked, under-appreciated, and mysteriously sentenced to eternal torment for your creative financial practices. Can you condemn enough souls in order to save your own?

Sister Eulalia is widely regarded as a martyr and protector but with a little creative license around the events of her life she could just as easily be cast as a sinner.

I'm preparing the game for testing on the Play Store and App Store. Looking forward to get some feedback, iron out any issues and move toward the release!

A black and white hand drawn card of an imaginary saint for the game, the Devil's Accountant. Below the card the description reads: Saint Lumina the Compassionate.
Known for her acts of mercy toward the sick and forgotten. She carries a lantern that symbolizes hope.

Saint Lumina will stand in your way very early in the game. With her insistence on "helping" people and an air of moral superiority, she may prove more irritating than truly challenging.

4 cards with a black and white drawing of an imaginary medieval holy character depicted in each. Sister Eulalia is depicted fleeing a burning neighbourhood, Friar Gregor is a relaxed traveler, Saint Isidra is holding a candle with a black flame and Saint Calista is praying with tears in her eyes.

Trying to escape Hell as the devil's accountant you will need to face some terrible foes. Committed holy characters who resist temptation and need some extra persuasion to be turned into sinners.

Thank you for sharing this! Very inspiring and impressive that you achieved so much while having a full time job. I’m curious, how do you decide when the time has come to discard a design, knowing that no amount of further tweaking will make it fun?

In Devil's Accountant you use your bookkeeping prowess to convert a series of powerful exalted figures into sinners and move up the ranks of hell with the hope of one day escaping the underworld.

The main game loop was always fun but lacked depth once you played for more than 5 minutes. Now with additional game loops it feels good to try to reach to the end and the repetition becomes interesting.

Today was the first time I played the game I’m making and I had fun. It’s a good feeling seeing all the systems come together after all this work and a sense of fun and accomplishment emerging through play.

My guilty pleasure in coding: Moving a single line of code a few lines up and suddenly, the interaction just feels right.

I had the same with Black Leopard Red Wolf. Couldn’t put it down.

Sitting down in a corner with your book at parties should be more normalized

I don’t remember if it’s in the book but the scene in the series where he is at the party and cries he wants to go home and read his book just stayed with me

These look great! In Chania right now and can confirm the Cretan gloominess 😬

Today’s realization: When you start a new habit or routine, it’s not just about the immediate impact it has on your life. There’s also a secondary layer of change that comes from mastering it over time. This second layer is not always apparent in the beginning.
