Sometimes one of the worst things about my disability is that I'll find myself almost 'forgetting' to take my disability into account? I'll agree to something thinking hey that doesn't sound too bad, then my disability jumps out from behind a street corner and knifes me.

To be clear I also check the legitimacy of charities before donating too; it just happens to be easier to do for companies and charities than people. Like you should always check charity numbers, registered place of business, and the parameters they consider for their donations. That kind of thing

Have I lost money to someone who probably didn't deserve it? Yeah absolutely. I've also helped a lot of people survive though, and I'm still in touch with several of them who are thriving now years later because in part of the little I managed to give.

People should ALWAYS check legitimacy.

Speaking as someone who has not only donated personally to people in need, but as someone who has worked for non-profits and charities for a number of years, it's important to remember that these charities are doing incredible work, but they aren't all-encompassing.

Apologies; I'm not trying to say that all of these accounts are legitimate in any way. I think people should exercise their brains and consider whether someone is real, look for markers that indicate reality, and above all talk to not only this person but the people around them.

These are fantastic charities to help Palestinians in need. That being said, that does not mean those 'shady spam accounts' aren't also real people in need. Many people do really need help. Whatever help you can give, at least you helped a little.
