This one is a bit of a departure from the usual and definitely a work in progress!

We found that by using ab initio reconstruction at very high res, in very small steps, we could crack some small structures that had eluded us - e.g. 39kDa iPKAc (EMPIAR-10252), below.

Activation of kainate receptor GluK2–Neto2 complex - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology Gangwar et al. present cryo-electron microscopy structures of GluK2 kainate receptors with auxiliary subunit Neto2 and reveal the basis of receptor activation.

Curious to know how does auxiliary subunit Neto2 modulate kainate receptor (KAR) function? Read our latest study describing GluK2-Neto2 complex-captured in both its activated and true apo states.
