Hoffman & Olivier on the set of
MARATHON MAN (1976)
Oliver was very ill during filming & although I’m sure Hoffman would say he was larking around & kind of ‘in character’ as Olivier was the Nazi-baddie in this movie, I’ve always found these photos embarrassing (for Hoffman).

"When Orson was low on funds he lived with me. I never got used to living in the same apartment as him. I’d get up in the morning & there’d be the director of Citizen Kane sitting in my kitchen.“
ORSON WELLES was somewhat obsessed with ‘nasal inadequacy’.
He once said of his konk:
“My own nose is nothing... it has not grown one millimetre since infancy”.

“You can make a wonderful film about nothing. Look at Fellini.”
“There’s no such thing as over-acting as long as it’s true.”
You gotta love ORSON WELLES.

JOANNE WOODWARD was an Oscar winner for ‘The Three Faces of Eve’ (1957).
But when this photo was taken her husband - PAUL NEWMAN - had never won one, so, she made one for him and called it ‘Noscar’ (No Oscar).
Here she is presenting it to him at their home in 1958.
Love it.
