Not starting a collection of these, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase one of these Relics of Painting History. Now let's hope the paint is still in a fluid state...
These pretty boys will be available on made to order soon from Games Workshop. I just happened to have finished two of them recently, so I thought I would share a classic paint job on them!
Six Warhammer Fantasy Goblin Spearmen.
New tutorial for painting up your "6 Goblin Spearmen" Event Card for Warhammer Quest 1996 #WHQ95 (or if you just feel like painting some iconic Warhammer Fantasy sculpts). Check it out here: harmsworkshop.com/tutorials/go...
๐ฎ you're right! I hadn't even realized that! It's the "Original Original" Elf!
Although I'm a little sad that I can't seem to find the original one, I'm quite happy with this replacement Elf for my Warhammer Quest 1995 collection #WHQ95
I feel like this wasn't marketed for me...
Such a beautiful sight!
Aah, the free basing material season has begun...
Thanks for the birthday gift Clawfinger! My first ever album bought was their self-titled one from 1997 that was played a lot in my local Games Workshop store where my hobby journey started. Now a new album to enjoy while painting up some 90s era Goblins...
Octoclippy emerging from the Deep Dark Below to provide unwanted assistance.
Work in progress on the next tutorial for the "6 Goblin Spearmen" Event Card in Warhammer Quest 1995 #WHQ95
While painting, this method gives the best access (especially from below), and the metal pin can later be used to firmly attach the model to its base.
Although I have several special miniature holders with ergonomic grips and rotating top, I've come to prefer this method of using a small pin in the foot of the model stuck into a cork.
Hobby tip of the day. This is how I prepare my miniatures for the painting desk. Bonus: when mounted with 6 Goblin Spearmen, this doubles as a deadly weapon.
Game night with the kids playing Warhammer Quest '95. To stop my 4-year old Barbarian from enraging IRL I opted to hand out some extra Luck Tokens. Otherwise, a perfect young family game!
I've never tried using a light box, but I think the "paper on wall" method is more flexible and certainly cheaper!
I use a larger white sheet of paper behind the gradient background to prevent colour bleed from my Goblin Green wall, but you can obviously skip this if your wall is already white.
Free tip today for "professional" mini photography. A simple A3 printed blue-white gradient held up using clothespins attached to the wall with adhesive strips.
I enjoy your blog posts, but I gotta say, "number of words written" is a terrible KPI...
618 people fall asleep with the Dune soundtrack every night ;)
Why had I never heard of this before?!
Had a lot of fun at my first Warhammer Tournament yesterday (Batalha Corvos in Lisbon) and very proud that my army won the "best painted" prize!
Four years of work neatly summarized in one 7-letter word ;)
A 1,500 point Warhammer army of Dwarfen Mountain Holds
Having lost most of my childhood miniatures, I'm proud that I can finally field a 1,500pts painted army again. Dwarfen Mountain Holds for Warhammer: The Old World, ready for battle!
Thanks!
Warhammer: The Old World - Dwarf Gyrocopter
No tutorial for this one, but here's the last model for my 1,500pts Dwarfen Mountain Holds army. These are more fun to play with on the tabletop than to paint! #warhammer #theoldworld #dwarfs
That's too kind!
High Elf from my teenage years vs now. Pretty consistent in style, but I guess I didn't really improve in the last 25 years...
Thanks mate! I can safely say "diamond pattern robes" is not going to be my army scheme though ๐ฌ
