I would like all of the games I have backed on Kickstarter now
Including the one I'm working on, which is late partly because of me

This makes them look like they would absolutely be dust in the bottom of the bag by the time they were on the shelf
I also regret looking it up, but I think that was because you mentioned it, so thanks a lot
The RPG book my brother wrote (and which I am editing) is full -- FULL -- of em dashes and the rest of these. TOO BAD
I soft banned myself out of Flailsnails after realizing "oh shit, this is actually not my style at all" because I like the social aspect of RPGs too much for that
Agreed
No swearing roflmao
Weird
I'm playing Shadowrun right now, and having a good time, but I can't imagine how one could miss those rules. Whether you like them or not, there sure are a lot of them.
You're posting about Tanguy Destable when there's a Tan Guy Detestable in the freaking White House????
It occurs to me that a lot of the Nine Inch Noize album reminds me of Houses of Heaven if they had a pop sensibility and bigger, more annoying choruses
Still feel like The Soft Moon eventually arrived a sound that was NIN-adjacent but more rewarding (to me), RIP Luis Vasquez
Ok
Not really
When that chorus hit I was like "all right, enough"
I did pick up The Fragile but I think I sold it a couple weeks later, didn't come back after that
Extremely nice guys when we opened for them, a couple fun club songs
It really comes down to just not liking Trent's voice/lyrics/approach, no way around it
I mean, I've heard most of these *maybe* once, if at all, and my reaction to the NINoize versions is "this is all right but not hard enough and the chorus is annoying"
I think if I knew the originals I'd like these versions better, but since I don't, I'm like "hmm he didn't get all of it"
I don't LOVE it (it took me a while to warm up to them, they're very pop) but I do think it's p good
That is kinda what Pixel Grip is
It is pretty crazy to hear EBM basslines (which is what "German techno" basically has) in pop music, like, all the time
Okay, I liked "Heresy" and "Parasite" but the rest is too NIN for me. Which is a me problem, I know the guy's gonna do his thing (and people like it)
I'm curious what you see as replacing/supplanting the sound of "contemporary German techno which [is] reaching diminishing returns," if anything, or if this is just an offhand observation (which I don't think is wrong, btw)
Ohhhhhkayyyy "Parasite" is good as hell
I just got to "Heresy" and yeah I will admit that this goes
Yeah. "The Perfect Drug" is where that really kicked off (or where I started to notice) and a couple songs into NINoize I'm thinking that Trent's whole vocal/lyrical deal, which you absolutely nailed, is simply not gonna hit for me 30 years later and might stop me from liking this album
All right, I put it on
I still want Front 242 to release the new songs they played on their final tours in some fashion, even if they're just live recordings
I recognize 3 song titles on the album. Guess that'll happen when you stop paying attention in like 1998
Great article. I haven't heard the Nine Inch Noize versions, and have a strong urge to leave my teenage interest in NIN in the 90s (where it died around the time of "The Perfect Drug") but I love the consideration of what 90s industrial music has to offer in the late 2020s.
PS: Front 242 is better
